LBZ met a hill it couldnt climb today.

The GMT-800 HD trucks seem to be geared more towards highway towing performance and comfort, instead of sacrificing it all for utility. They have strong frames and axles (even the IFS isn't all bad) but could definitely do with some stiffer T-bars and Leaf packs. Right now my 2500HD...

    Gear oil recommendations?

Sorry to threadjack, but I haven't seen your name pop up in forever, since you left or were banned from FSC! How've ya been?

    Opinion on this article.

Just stay away from Honeywell/Fram designed filters. They manufacture everything from some ACDelco filters to Honda filters. Honda had numerous companies producing oil filters for them, which I found was very odd but you just had to be careful when purchasing. Just take a close look at the case...

Test drove a truck yesterday - 06 LBZ

This is good info for the prospective buyer. Not that I could afford a DMAX right now, but I like to catalogue it away in my brain :)

    Too Many Grounds?

That's a damn fine post! Couldn't have said it better myself :)

    Fuel Economy Solutions

I should mention it is the same principle in removing carbon buildup. You put water in, water evaporates, creates steam. Couple that with some effect from flash cooling and you end up with a cleaner engine. Not that sticking a hose down the intake is exactly the same. That's idiotic...

    Fuel Economy Solutions

It's the same as water/meth injection. I've done it to every single one of my vehicles or my families vehicles. Everything from a 1.6L Honda to the 6.0L in my 2500HD. They all quite enjoy it, if there is no difference, the engine was probably still clean :D

Headder wrap on turbo down pipe.

Now you just need a bigger turbo to make use of that big exhaust :D

    Fuel Economy Solutions

My experience is mostly with the gassers hooked up to 4L60E's and 4L80E's. The TM must be more aggressive, to keep from breaking shit in the 1-2 shift. Even though our diesels have more TQ, I think it's RPM that does the gassers in...especially with people doing full throttle runs on stock...

    4L80E, who where to buy?

Have you looked into your speed sensors? I know that a bad speed sensor can cause a variety of erratic issues and can make a transmission act like it's possessed. It might not be your issue, but check to see if they aren't damaged or are giving an incorrect reading.

    Fuel Economy Solutions

I'm not familiar at all with the 6.5 PCM's and tuning, but I was wondering if they were hindered with Torque Management? I know that it saves a stock tranny from bad drivers and bad/non-existant maintenance, but a well tuned, well maintained stock 4L80E or a built trans could benefit from...

    Fuel Economy Solutions

With all my gassers, I usually let the engine warm up to operating temp. then pull off a manifold vacuum hose and let the engine suck up water through there. That's not exactly possible with a diesel, but the water method is very effective. Which is why water/meth injection can have great...

    PS Fluid for the Duramax

WHen i went with extended lines for my lifted K5, I decided on rubber, only because I hear that some of the braided line can snag hard on stuff off road and cause other things to break. So I went with rubber, because the off road terrain around here is filled with bushes, rocks, trees, marshes...

    PS Fluid for the Duramax

Is you rear brakes working correctly? Have you tried using braided stainless brake lines? The braiding is supposed to help with expansion due to excessive fluid pressure. Which is a bad spot on GM trucks for causing a mushy pedal.

    PS Fluid for the Duramax

You gotta remember what gives you power brake assist...the PS pump! Get it working better and stronger and you get a better and stronger assist on the brake pedal. I followed the DIY on both my 2002 2500HD (6.0L gas) and my 83 K5. There are differences between those 2 hydroboost units, but the...

    250-6 to 6.2

Id expect to see high 20's but i dont know if it would eclipse the 30mpg mark, in any long term sense. Should get you a fantastic average MPG though :D

    Db2 Injection Pump

The fuel heater is something that probably won't be missed, but there are no benefits to doing this (from what I know of). Every modification you make to the fuel system is still gonna have to funnel through the small factory inlet line to the IP. Get yourself a Feed the Beast fitting kit for...

    2002 GM Crew Cab Repower...

I was thinking the same thing with my 02 2500HD gasser...but I think it would be easier to swap in a Dmax at that point. At least the sensors, wiring, etc. will all read and match up. My boss does have a 24V sitting in his old truck, buried in snow. He's got a newer 1500 Hemi Ram now and...

    Headlight mod's

Both those modifications will strengthen your electrical system and brighten up even the oldest headlights. I recommend replacing the bulbs with some higher quality selections and using TYC elegante headlights and matching turn signal housings and side markers. These have a pretty good light...
