6.5 running like crap after new IP install

I use the license plate bolt.

A lot of times they were long enough I could add a nut and washer.

Depending on the heat sink, sometimes I would have rivet a piece of aluminum angle or something onto the heat siink to get it mounted the way ai like.

I took to mounting a heat sink and PMD inside each bumper nostril and running 2 extension cables up to the intake.

That way, I could swap PMDs under the hood instead of getting down on the ground

I have 3 behind the bumper. No vent hokes in my bumper.
I labeled the connectors 1, 2 and 3 so if I have to switch at the IP connector I know which one I switched to and which one went bad down below.

I never mounted the second one, but the one I have is right in the hole of my bumper with the heatsink fins facing forward to catch wind. I used some of the angle iron home depot sells that has all the holes in it. drilled two holes on the bottom of the bumper and bolted it up, then bolted the heatkink to the angle with the connector facing where I can get to it. only issue is you have to lay down on the ground to get to it.

Mine has the dorman unit installed and hasn't failed yet for the last few years. I scored one with heatsink and extension I found in a JY that has a sticker on it from Pensacola diesel. I tested it and it works so it's home is laying behind the back seat. I also pulled my resistor out of the PMD and placed it into the end of the connector on the extension up by the engine so I don't have to worry about it next time I have to replace the PMD. also put an extra resistor in the extension that's on the spare I have. so if the one installed fails while out on the road, I just unplug at teh engine. lay the spare extension out and over to the front brush guard and zip tie there for the drive home not needing to lay on the ground when out on the side of the road.
