for extracting broken bolts, i took an old pushrod and cut off the end. slid the drill bit in and welded it up. works good, used it three or four times yet.
why is it that it seems like only chev guys commenting? where are the dodge guys showing some pride in a nice ride.
nice video man. i put a bug in my friends ear to sell me his cummins. ):h 2002 2500 6 speed. not putting down chev, but i really appreciate the cummins.
I would definitely recommend a W/I setup for anyone modding their 6.5 up that is looking to keep it cooler. The extra power is a bonus. As to whether I will get noticeable MPG improvements, I have to keep in mind that I am paying extra for methanol. I could just run water with a really good...
right now i am using the windshield washer fluid tank. like i said, it doesn't last very long, lol. I am thinking of maybe building my own tank that would sit flush inside the box wall and extend up and over the wheel well. I am thinking closer to 10 gallons would be nice.
Ed, I was actually thinking of your comment when I took the first run, lol.
I am using Pure Methanol. The container lists it at 99.9 % anyway. I am trying to keep it around the 10% mark as I had read that too.
Spraying water while cruising would be nice, which is where the controller would...
So I finally got a W/M setup. I ordered the unit from Cooling Mist off E-bay. Total cost to my door with taxes and shipping was $420 Canadian.
The kit comes with two nozzles and a digital controller. A similar kit from Snow was quoted to me at a price of $2000. Big difference in price here...
Yea, the aluminum cast was the 3500 version. Mine sure as heck ain't an aluminum one. 92/93 GM's shared the same ration as the Dodge. That bull low gear of 6.34:1. Love that gear. ):h
First, the five speed shaker is the same as the 6.5 has. NV(g)4500.
Nice comparison though.
On the MPG. I thought for sure the Cummins would waste the 6.5 for mileage. Then again, the Cummins probably weighs 2K more.
Suicide doors are available on our gen trucks. Just not near as...
sweet. thanks. I guess after that, the only thing I am waiting for is a gear set and i might have to get the driveshaft shortened. i might just put it in with the 3.73.s and lock out 4X until i can get a set of 4.10s
Sorry took so long to get back. I have been up north for the week, and away from the computer. I measured the axle and it is wider. I am hoping that it will make the back axle stick out enough to match the front of the truck. Which will help with that bad look ):h
Loss of ground clearance...
Are there kits out there? I got the axle for $110 to start with. I think it would be pretty involved to swap the current drums for discs. And the newer rearend has a lot better posi unit in it, and a bigger carrier.
So I was at my favorite junkyard, and found an 01 Dmax in there. The truck had been burnt nicely, except for the back five feet. I was going to pull the carrier and sell it, but then decided to take the whole axle. It's a full floater with discs. I am going to put it on my truck. I need to find...
well, i ordered the w/m kit, it's on the way. i have the i/c, just have to install it, and i am working on air intake. now i just have to get time to do all this.
No HX-40. After talking with Bill, he recommended I go with the HX-35.
Interesting that Bill would say 14 max. Just passing on what he said to me as well. :D And the fact that I have been running it at well beyond 14 for almost a year, with some very extreme conditions. Ie. Brakestands...
Let us know how it turns out. We can compare that to the Cooling Mist kit.
Most people are agreeing on a 10% Meth/ 90% Water mix as the highest W/M ratio?
Reasons for not going with a higher meth content are? While mainly for cooling, I would like to know the pro's and con's of using...
when it goes, i'll let you know. ):h
should start a pool to pick a date when it goes out. at whatever point that is. once the new engine is in, it doesn't count.
and like i pointed out though, heath is running higher compression and more boost.
i have a video of the truck sustaining...
:
We keep on seeming to have these points we disagree on. :D I have been hitting well beyond 14 for almost 10 months now, with no issues. Not to mention, Heath runs higher than stock compression, while putting out a lost more boost.
Agreed you need to turn up the IP to make sure that you...
