    Well it turned out to be a rusted hose clamp that broke but still stayed somewhat tight on the outlet of the lift pump. It was barely leaking fuel so I missed it at first but enough of an opening to suck air. New hose clamp and runs like its old self. Still doesn't explain the random...

    yes. I can hear it running and its the only way I was able to bleed the fuel system to get the truck to start back up.

    If you want a lot of good towing power option #3 will give you the most out of that list except for maybe the 7.3. something is wrong with your turbo if it can only produce 12-13 psi with the tm cranked all the way down.     well a full bottle of ps diesel kleen and 1200 miles and it has still happened a couple times but not as frequent.
