I told them my labor to fix it myself was worth something.. They actually got off for less than they would have charged to do the job.. I think it is about a $300 job..
Just got back from the dealer. They are going to pay me $140. Not too bad. Parts cost about $87 or so. I argued that my time and labor was worth at least $50, they agreed. Should have said $100 I guess..:hihi:
There aren't any numbers on the letter. They state in the letter that they will cover repairs for 10 years or 150,000 miles.

I paid $ 26.47 for the pigtail (Napa)and $60.54 for the resistor board (Federated), a little over a year ago.
Didn't they recall this in Canada quite some time ago?
GM finally sent out a recall on faulty fan wiring for 2006 Silverado. Got mine today. I fixed mine out of warranty over a year ago. GM says they will reimburse for cost of repairs already done. I'm happy to say I saved the receipts.. :agreed::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I have one of those starters brand new never used. Picked it up before I figured out I had an Autozone lifetime. It can be had for a lot less than the ebay price. Hell, I can probably deliver it next time I get over to Baumhart road.

Thinking about replacing resistor pack and cleaning plug contacts on harness plug?
Any other ideas?
Oh, this is...
It went directly to the boneyard. I'm guessing a connecting rod let loose. With 350,000 plus on it, I decided it wasn't worth fixing. Got the 16 foot flatbed to replace it. Bigger loads=more money..

The seller "6.5l" , as far as I can figure, runs an ebay drop ship operation from his kitchen. His site touts a factory with long time employees. The factory does not exist.
His engines come from International Diesel on Long Island. I had one of their longblocks. Ran great for 75,000 miles...
