Thanks guys! I agree. I like old, she likes new, at the end of the day, it IS my truck. Great point on the fuel mileage, I will get one picked up in the next month from you Leroy.
:hihi:
Leroy, I am guessing you will be running an ATT turbo, but curious to see what it would do with a stock turbo. I know I should convince the better half that I need an ATT, but she has been wanting me to get rid of it. I just really like the diesel, but I am torn as the newer gas 1/2tons will...
On my 93, it seems to be timed, as near as I can tell. I installed an manual glow relay, and it has helped me manually glow the plugs when/if I need to.
As noted, due to time constraints, I did not install the kitty and sent my wife in for the test. It was a progression: no kitty had him looking > found disconnected orange vac line > claimed he observed 2 to 3 seconds of smoke on the accelerator snap test.
Big T, I would suggest you take it...
I didnt see that you verified the lift pump is working. You want to make sure it is pumping up to the injection pump. I can hear mine running after I shut down for a few seconds. I also had to replace this with the engine replacement, as the previous owner(PO) had it disconnected at the...
x4, it is a fuel system issue of some sort. If I recall right white smoke = Air in the fuel. The fuel system on these works like vehicle brakes, under pressure, air is bad, as it compresses, where the fluid just pressurizes(sp?)
BTW, I too have a 93, and they are somewhat different than all...
After replacing my engine, I ditched the block/coolant heater. I have one of the biggest glue on oil pan heaters that will fit the 6.5. Here in WA the temp can get down to freezing in the winter, but it is usually just a week or two out of the month. It seemed to work fine this last year, as...
213,000 on the clock is pretty respectable. Sorry for you loss....
I hope whatever route you decide, it works out for you.
My OE engine only got 150K. We will see how far the replacement goes.
