My pump, and injectors from DieselPro showed up today, and I have to say that if it performs as nice as it looks, I'll be a very happy camper!

The injectors have genuine Bosch Germany 311 marine nozzles, and were popped to 23000 psi.
Thanks DP!!

I went ahead, and did a Feed The Beast mod on a spare FFM I had laying around as well. I drilled the housing out, and installed a 1/8 npt x 5/16 hose fitting on it. I had to drill the fitting as well to get the ID up to 1/4", to match the custom fitting DP installed in my pump. Here are a few pics.
I'm hoping to tear into it Sat.
Matt

He modified the fuel rate (102cc's on the flow bench), also had the advance curve modified, as well as the governor. It won't defuel from the governor till 4300 rpm. Has a Ford inlet cone with a custom made inlet fitting, and its not maxed out yet. The 102cc was not maxed, and he left me more room to turn it up further if I feel the need. :)
Oh, I noticed I seem to have added an extra zero to my injector pop pressure in my first post! 2300, not 23000! :D

I noticed but am not a nazi on issues like this.:)

DP seems to have built you a nice pump:D

Well, its not done, but I made progress. I wasn't in a hurry, as I wanted to make sure to do everything right. My right side valve cover had started leaking, so I took care of that as well. Its funny, I had never heard of the Right Stuff gasket maker until reading about it here. I've had my account with Orielly Auto for over 12 years, and I use them exclusively. They don't carry the Right Stuff, so I'd never seen it before. I used standard black RTV on my engine back when I rebuilt it, and it worked great on everything except the right valve cover. I spent a fair amount of time making sure everything was clean, and the valve cover was straight, then bought the Right Stuff from Autozone. Hopefully, it won't leak anymore.
The new IP is in, and all the old injectors are out, but I still have a fair amount of work left to do tomorrow. When I took the shroud off, I was amazed at how many leaves had already built up between the rad, and ac condenser. Cleaned those out. Hopefully it will be up, and running tomorrow. The last two pics are the way I left it today, after running out of daylight.

Matt

All I can say is wow!

This beast pulls strong, and runs great. I have a couple things to do before taking a video. I have my TPS sensor adjusted wrong, so my trans is shifting way to early. I was trying to adjust it so that it would shift a little later, but apparently I went the wrong direction, and I was out of daylight, so I called it quits. Church let out a little late today, so I didn't get started on it until after 1pm.
My engine is alot more marbly (if thats a word) sounding. I may have the timing a touch more advanced, or maybe its just the fresh pump. I manually shifted it at between 36-3800 rpms a couple times, and it pulls hard to those RPM's! I can't wait to take a video, so I can show the difference. The exhaust note is different (better), and it seems like the turbo is whistling even louder. It could just be me, and the fact that the truck feels so different. Its almost as drastic a change as when I added the bigger turbo.
I checked the diameter of all 16 ends on my injector lines using numbered drill bits, to see if I had any that had been shrunk from over tightening, and there were 2, so I drilled them back to size, and then I made sure not to over tighten any of the line nuts. I'll post more on it tomorrow.
I would like to give a very special thanks to DieselPro, for the Awesome job he did on my pump!

Matt

Sounds great and can't wait to see vids! I'm interested to hear more about the ends of the lines. I'll have to check mine the next time mine is apart. One question: why did you have the compressor housing off the turbo?

DieselPro recommended I check the ends of all my injector lines for size using a set of numbered drill bit. He said as old as these are getting, most have been removed, and re torqued several times which caused the ID of the lines to shrink, as it acts like a compression fitting. He said since I am looking for max fueling, it would be in my best interest to make sure my lines hadn't been shrunk. Upon checking, I found two that were smaller than the rest. He told me to drill them out with the correct bit, and clean them thoroughly. I did.
I replaced my injectors with a set of high pop Bosch marine injector, and removing the compressor housing, gave me easier access. I'm glad I didn't have to pull the turbo, as one of those bolts is a real bugger! :D

That description seems like it is into the advanced range. Mine was a little extra 'clattery' in the mid power ranges (~25% to 65% requested power) and learned that the IP was set too far advanced; also, in my case the ECM threw a code.

From what I have read, some advance is Ok, but going too far will create issues and burn the glow plugs.

What size letter bit does DP recommend for the end of the inj. lines? I would not have thought about that.
