My New Injection Pump Is Here!

I ran 24 LBS for over a year on the 1995 HX40II setup without issue. Only the downpipe leaked and sooted up everything. Only reason for 24 LBS was it wouldn't go higher on that 6.2 engine...

Careful with too little spring pressure on the WG as it can blow off sudden like on a WOT run at top RPM and you loose boost. Then it's like hitting a brick wall as power is suddenly gone.

I may have missed it somewhere, but where did you get the pump built? I know you said it's DieselPro, but I had no luck finding a website for anything 6.5 related searching "DieselPro"

DieselPro is a semi-retired injection pump guy, over at the other diesel place. However, you have one of those wicked pumps from Unique. What do you need a pump guy for? While I love my pump, its not throwing 117cc@3500! How is your pump doing?

Matt

I was just curious, I'm not on the other site and just like to be in "the know" I guess lol. My pump is doing great. Been having some lift pump issues and some leaky fuel lines at fuel connections, but the ip is still going strong! Hopefully getting the lift pump and fuel leaks taken care of in the next week or so.

Haven't posted any updates in a while, I know. Always busy it seems. I will say though, I used my dads 05 duramax with a 100hp tune on it to haul roughly the same load as I did with my truck (exact same gooseneck trailer, same exact trip, and within 1000lbs of each other trailer weight) and my truck easily pulled as well as his truck did. Was very impressed. Took a pretty good hill running a sustained 24 psi of boost to the top. Never dropped any speed and actually watched the cummins pulling a trailer behind me fade out of view[emoji4] That was definitely the best part.

Those are the kind of things I like to hear! :D Is your engine still running TTY bolts. I've heard several reports of guys running high boost/ high power 6.5's without issues, but unfortunately, I'm no longer one of them. :D I popped a head gasket, and am now replacing my heads, and installing ARP's, along with Felpro +.010's.
I would love to see some updates from you, as I love your setup! :)

Matt

I installed head studs on mine when I did the roller rockers and turbo swap. Ran the stock tty bolts with the att. Max boost I ever saw was 22 psi when I put my new ip on. And that was only for a second bc I let off the throttle when it got that high. Was unsure of boost limits of the att and was running the tty bolts so I didn't want to push my luck.

New LP shipping today.

I agree, dealing with Leroy is great. Its more like dealing with your buddy, than with a company. :)

I know this isn't much of an update, but I'm going to update you anyway.:D I got the heads painted, but I did it the lazy way. I just found a spray can that match my color closely. I don't generally use spray bombs, as a good professional paint with hardener holds up much better, but to pull out my gun for a pair of heads seemed silly, so some good ole DupliColor made short work of it. You can see the color is a good match with the engine, as I didn't repaint the valve covers.
I went to pick up my head gaskets at Orielly's today, but they didn't have them in stock, so they will be here in the morning.
I also managed to pick up a K47 air box for next to nothing, which will be nice once I get it back together.

I'll be curious to see how that turns out Leroy, as I wouldn't think it would leave a very nice finish, particularly on the sheet metal, like the valve covers.

I pasted that emoticon, as none of the ones we have were fitting.:D

I was at a swap meet this weekend and there was a POR 15 vendor there. He had a sample of their engine paint there that had been applied with a foam brush. It looked fine for the casting but not the finish I wanted for the sheetmetal. I'm planning on doing Dupli Color rattle cans on mine.

Por-15 does not look bad at all with a brush. My neighbor used it on his transfer case he rebuilt. He then painted over it with that hammer paint. I used it on some banshee parts that were rusting. We both used a cheap brush. When done it looked good. Did not have the brushed on look. I want to use POR-15 on my frame. One day, when I have the money.
