Lower Intake Thread Repair Solutions.

The Time-Serts arrived and they worked just fine.

A little different in style/construct but they threaded in as hoped.
The Senmmonn inserts have a wider lip than the Time-serts and, having already prepared the intake for the Senmmonns, the Time-serts seated a little deeper but, that’s fine.

Heli / Perma-Coil. This one was previously installed years ago and remains.

Using the OEM upper as a guide for drilling, the holes are plumb and the intake will be ready for use after the bolt hole is fixed. The studs look a little off given the affects of using close focus.

Aaaand, true to form. After all this time, money and hoopla is finally done… look what I found while re-organizing my tool chest.

Yup…the missing M8 x 1.5 Heli Coil kit was ‘hiding’ on a cluttered shelf, under a tossed rag, waiting for use when I got done with the original project of replacing the injector return hoses. I knew I’d seen them somewhere…old-Heimers and one big, serious face palm here.

But before I get dog piled upon by you my friends, I seem to recall finding a return hose kit under some stashed parts in the back of someone’s Burb a couple of years ago….

”[Things] happen,” eh?
