While that was being worked on, I was working on far less exciting stuff back home. I started blasting before I realized I should have taken photos. I did get my factory motor mounts apart and they're ready for paint, also, but I ran out of time.

For some reason the turbo side started out very clean as shown above, but the driver side was very rusted. It was pretty humid yesterday, so there seems to be some flash rusting on them. I'll probably go over them one last time before I coat.

Another update

Heads are finished the coating process and will be assembled and installed next weekend.
Heads got the egr ports aluminum filled, heat stop in the runners, thermal barrier in combustion chambers.
My propitiatory springs will be used.

This is how we install head studs...
Bevel block, wire brush the coating off the studs, clean with brake kleen, roll stud in "the right stuff" , screw studs in snug, clean up excess , let cure for a few days.
Once done, the bevel and sealant forms a "o-ring" type seal above the threads.

I'm open to anyone's thoughts on what I found once I took off the pan. Personally, I was pleased. I'm unsure how many times does the crank have to roll through the oil before the paint wears off. Any guesses on mileage?

Paint needs 2-3 day cure time, I think.

Glad you can have the doors open because if it's anything like the stuff I coated the silver parts with, it's horrible when it heats up.
