I have read that the 1500HD's cab mounts are welded to the frame at a lower position than the 2500HD. Other's claim that the 2500HD has a 'factory lift'. Does anyone know what the deal is?
I would like to do a slight body lift to match a 2500HD height so if I can grab 2500HD parts cheap...
The 1500HD has softer suspension than the 2500HD. Since I leveled it the front is stiffer than before since turning up the bars is essentially adding pre-load to the springs.
I carry tools, some fuel in the Aux tank, and usually some other misc crap in the bed; plus the weight of the top...
Ok. I need to focus on the current project today. I have bolted in my aux tank, acquired a inline pump that has a check valve as well as an anti-siphon valve. I also have a simple timer circuit with relay on a single board that I grabbed from ebay. I am thinking that since I have a camper...
I am thinking that I could pick up some MPGs if I swap the fan out to dual electrics on my 6.0 gasser. What do you guys think? Anyone done it? Only thing I have read is that I should find OEM fans in junkyard since aftermarket ones don't last.
Thoughts?
Ok. Has anyone heard a Flowmaster and a Magnaflow on 6.0L gassers? The large oval, dual-in, single-out (big block) mufflers are almost equal in price. I don't want loud our drone since will likely tow long distance with family. But, I do want it to sound better. Comments?
I am meeting a guy tomorrow about buying his Superchips Flashpaq Tuner. He has not been able to make it tune his trailblazer because he got the V8 tuner and it's a 6 cyl. I have not used one before but I do know that they will only tune one vehicle. He bought it used. I want to make sure he...
I have found some used BFG A/T KO in the 285/70/17 size I need. But they are D rated, not E. I really like the stiffness of E rated tires but I don't have cash for a new set. What do you guys think about using the D rated ones on my 1500HD? I don't tow often or very heavy. The heaviest ones...
I have a spare GM lift pump left over from my burb. I'm wondering if I can use it as a transfer pump for gas. Does it cross to any gas applications? If so, can someone provide evidence of such so I know it's safe?:skep:
I looked at the exhaust. It's dual all the way to the muffler. So, I am thinking of just replacing it and pipe after it. I don't want loud but I would like to know it's running other than the chevy tick. Does it need K&N & TB spacer or is stock air box sufficient?
Still going thru my initial 'tune-up' with the purchase of the new-used truck. Shocks were crap. Rear bump stops look like they have never touched. Fronts are destroyed. Is this common? It does seem to point downhill but I thought that was normal for GM without being leveled.?. I plan to...
Looking for reasonable replacements for the truck. Anybody run H2 wheels without lift? A friend says he has run them on duramax trucks with 285-70-17s on them without a lift.
Pics if you have them please.
I remember someone sharing the fittings required to run AN style fuel lines from the tank or hard lines forward to their Walbro lift pump. I have searched but have not found it. Does anyone remember where that was or remember the fittings? As long as I own the burb I can't help but...
So, I assume that when changing the harmonic balancer we should change the front crank seal? If so, what is it called and what is the part number? I have some oil leaking from that area now and I plan to change the HB next week. It's not bad but I think it should be done while I am there...
Our hauler at work is a 2002 CCLB F-250 7.3 Powerstroke 2wd. She does very little other than pulling the 25'+ enclosed trailer on long trips. She only has 88k miles on her. We have approval for some $$ to throw few upgrades on her. My list is as follows but I would like input on brands &...
I just called LMC to find out more info on the headlight assemblies that they sell. The CSR said she has no more information than the catalog. The catalog tells you nothing but fitment. I asked her was there no one who would have more info, such as a technical dept? She said no, no tech...
There are a few GEP engines going on sale tomorrow at Fort Jackson. I wouldn't mind bidding if it's not against friends here since we are defeating the purpose if we are bidding against one another. I would like someone who is close to inspect them if they had time. Sorry for last minute but...
With 4-6" of rain the last week then 4" of snow I have a very wet carpet under my feet. :mad2:
I have noticed it a little wet before but it dried quickly and I was not sure there was an issue. Obviously there is. The source appears to be near the parking brake pedal but I have not caught it...
