Replacement PMD stock or aftermarket? for 1994 6.5 TD

It is the new one that came on the side of my Dtech Injection Pump that I purchased in December 2011. It has never been used. I pulled it off and put it in the cabinet as a spare.

REPO3ANITE in Pickens, SC has an engine. Could we get any help getting it closer to I

I will be traveling to the Peoria area in June. If you want to wait that long and someone can bring it to Greensboro I wouldn't mind adding it to the load.

Replacement PMD stock or aftermarket? for 1994 6.5 TD

I agree that you should mount one on a cooler, in the bumper and leave it for when the current one goes out. Make sure you have the extension cable ready. Leroy sells them. I have a new Dtech PMD sitting in the cabinet that I would like to liquidate if anyone is interested.

    Cab Mounts?

I will probably do that. I was just trying to understand the difference and see if there are cheap salvage yard parts to do it with. With further thought, it was probably a bad idea.. Sometimes it worth the extra $$ to have everything and save time.:nonod:

    Cab Mounts?

I have read that the 1500HD's cab mounts are welded to the frame at a lower position than the 2500HD. Other's claim that the 2500HD has a 'factory lift'. Does anyone know what the deal is? I would like to do a slight body lift to match a 2500HD height so if I can grab 2500HD parts cheap...

    Add a Leaf?

Are 2500HD spring heavier than 1500HD? I am thinking that $100 set of salvage yard springs may be the way to go here.

    Add a Leaf?

Thanks for all the discussion guys. I am going to do a little more research including cost of re-arching springs and maybe swapping to 2500HD springs.

    Add a Leaf?

    Good feedback Will. Thanks!

    Add a Leaf?

The 1500HD has softer suspension than the 2500HD. Since I leveled it the front is stiffer than before since turning up the bars is essentially adding pre-load to the springs. I carry tools, some fuel in the Aux tank, and usually some other misc crap in the bed; plus the weight of the top...

Replaced the 1500hd front wheel bearings

My drivers side was the same way when I went through it just before the Thanksgiving trip.

    New gauges

Leroy's boost bolt is the only way to go. I had customized my fuel supply so I didn't need his fuel pressure tap but would have if kept stock system.

    H2 wheels on 1500HD / 2500?

I have never tried the chalk trick. I guess I need to find a level parking lot?

    H2 wheels on 1500HD / 2500?

:hihi: Well, I was in East TX at the time. Thanks for the comments. It still needs cleaned badly.

    H2 wheels on 1500HD / 2500?

Cool. Thanks. I hope I can get that kind of mileage out of my BFGs. I had a set on a 4x4 V8 Quad Cab Dakota that lasted 70k miles but I have heard they don't last as long these days...

    Aux fuel tank install

Wow. How about that. My system works just fine when I have the suction tube that was supposed to be there to begin with. Apparently they do their tube as an inserted assembly with the fitting and the bung on the top of the tank is just that, a bung. :rolleyes5: Here is a pic of the tube:

    Aux fuel tank install

Yeah. Well, I did have a lot of crap in the bed of the truck. The shell was packed pretty tight. Tools, luggage, coolers, supplies for family, bicycles, etc. Dropped off some stuff in TX then ended up bringing a treadmill back, so load may have got slightly more for the return trip. Cab was...

    air pressure in fuel tank

It's probably vacuum. May need a fuel cap. Mine typically had a little vac when I opened the cap. Not enough to be a problem.
