the fluid is ok,it sounds like the engine dies but when i let go off the throttle the engine jumps and throw little black smoke...
if i reverse and push the throttle a little more its ok..
my 1999 suburban 6.5td sometimes sounds like its dying if put in reverse and pushing the throttle slightly,if i pull it a little harder,its ok..
its worst when its worm,new converter in it..any ideas?
There is always a risk when you plow,over here there is almoust no plowtrucks without bent frames...
if the plow touches something hard during plowing,the frame is getting much stress..
when i plow the highway,with a big truck ofcourse,i often go 35-40mph,but plowing the small roads i go wery...
I see on theese forums that the 6.5 has a bad reputation.
ive owned 3 6.5s all 99mod,and they have been good reliable engines,good cold start performance,and no oil consumption..they all have been rolling 300k kilometers...
in my country(Norway) the climate is like alaska,and lots of steep...
Hi,ive got a problem vith my tranny a 4l80e 99mod.
when cruising in overdrive and meet a hill so the tranny goes out of overdrive it vibrates mutch.
ive also heard it in first gear once at idle,sounded like it engaged the lock up.. if i downshift to third manually,no sound..oil and filter...
No its pure dino oil dyno cat 15 w40....since new....it just turned 300k kilometers:smile5:
I never plug in but i allows it to idle a few minutes before i drive....
I was starting my 99 6.5td in -38c the other day.....jumpercabels and hairdryer blowing in the turbo hose and it fired up!:smile5:
Not been plugged...and not started for some days... not bad,and best of all,my friends 7.3 powerstroke didnt start at all:smile5:
my opinion is,and i always tell the police when they stop me in driving regulations and weight controls that our european cabs isnt good enough for these regulations..we have to stop and rest 11 ours at night..and its only to seats and a small bed in theese trucks! no place to change clotes,and...
Here in norway there is almoust only hills,i understand the different need for engines if its flat..the cost of an overhaul isnt realy an issue here cause the companies change out the trucks when they have 500 000km on them,others drive them to almoust a million,but then the rest of the truck is...
Here in norway its 50 000kg or 110231pounds on six axle semi trucks or the more common truck and trailer,a tree axle truck witha tree axle trailer behind it..on timber trucks its 132000pounds and some dump trucks can go with 154000p..sorry my english.. its not wery common with tandem trucks here...
hi,just a question..why are all american trucks(full rigs) equiped with inline six engines? over here in europe many trucks like my scania has 16litre v8 with 620hp and almoust 4000 nm.. im just curius..:smile5:
