Well, looks like its 2wd for me. Can't find any decent 4wd in my price range. I drove a 4wd truck last winter and the only times i used it was doing things i never should have been doing LOL. I can buy a newer lower mileage truck in 2wd, which is worth it more for me. Thanks guys.
Still trying to find a truck, but now thinking a 4wd would be handy in the winter up here. But depending on the drop in mpg, might not be worth it for me. Tried searching but all i can find is differences between engines not 2wd & 4wd.
Well, that one fell through. Going to look at a 2004 this weekend. Higher mileage though, 186000 miles. Kind of worries me, but i guess at least it'll still have warranty for the injectors.
Well, i am still trying to fix the 6.5 but i am on the hunt for a Dmax. The main reason i need another truck is for winter, and a trip down to Texas once every 3-4 weeks. I don't like the idea of running a 500+ km truck on a 5000km trip once a month. Plus the regular cab ain't that comfy. Thanks...
Any other ideas? I'm going to take the plunger off the shut off solenoid and try a few other things saturday. Just don't want to replace it until i find the real problem. Already has enough new parts, don't want to scrap it with a new fuel shut off solenoid as well. LOL.
So i can remove the plunger and put it back in and it will work as if it wasn't there? If thats the case then thats what i'll do. I really don't want to spend another dime on this truck unless i know it is the problem for sure.
I dunno, now it just cranks over and tries to kick but won't actually start. Before it would start and run, but die.
Any idea what the solenoid is worth?
No, never even got that far. Just trying to break it free and the nut broke loose from the body and spun inside the housing, ripping off the wires in the process. She was in there good.
So did I take off the right thing?
Oops.
Barely even turned it and she ripped the wires out and the head of the bolt was just spinning. Ended up having to use visegrips clamped on and pliers on those to get the damned thing out. So guess i'll see what one of them is worth...
