    oil cooler lines

I just R&R'd my cooler lines and relocated and replaced the cooler. Without getting into all the details, keep in mind that if you relocate the cooler it better have lots of airflow. That is why it is in the rad area. The engine fan keeps the air moving even in stop and go traffic or idling...

    Non engine question.........

When the steering gear was r&r'd, what was done with the old rag joint between the intermediate steering shaft and the steering gear box. The rubber disc acts as a vibration reducer and chances are it was worn. As they are somewhat difficult to get, it may have been bolted up or something in an...

    88894035?

I may be wrong but I think the restrictor is the thermostat and the key is the pump. The problem is the upgrade of the pump means a new screw on clutch for those of us who have bolt ons. The cost grows exponentially..... The ACDelco pump 251-603 may (or not) be matched by the Alliant Power pump...

    What regulates rear brakes?

I found this article a while back and kept a copy. If the mods need to edit it, have at it..... I haven't done any of the mods yet but I thought I might post it for your interest.... It seems to be related to this thread. It doesn't address the rear lock-up, but it does discuss the wear and...

    Axle bearing warning

I'm not sure which mine are although it is a 1500. Are the 8 lugs separate and the 6 lugs integral or is it model specific?

    Axle bearing warning

I find this thread intriguing as those bearings have always been in the back of my mind. Turbine Docs' experience really started me thinking. I recall reading somewhere that you can lube the bearings through the ABS port with a needle fitting. This raises the question, if that is true, what...

new here, with a 6.5L Camaro

I just finished reading through this thread. I've heard of hijacking threads but a forum?? That is a very nice project. I may take a side trip on my summer vacation road trip this summer. Ohio wouldn't be too far out of the way.... By the by, wasn't that a 50 mph sign you blew past in the "wake...

    Power steering pump R&R

Another update! After observing that the low pressure return line between the Steering gear and the P/S pump was strategically bent and directed into the depths below and behind the radiator, down into the frame area, I crawled under the truck with a flashlight thinking I was going to find a...

    Smoke switch?

:iagree:): Because you haven't filled your signature it's hard to elaborate. Keep a lonngg handled grappling hook in your vehicle. If you are driving a pickup, keep the tail gate down. If you're in a SUV or van keep the back doors open and the side windows down. Always keep the vehicle...

    oy

Mine did that, some times 2 hiccups, sometimes severe, sometimes not. I relocated a new PMD/cooler off the engine but still in the engine compartment and it was good for a year until the weather got hot again and the same routine started but with the occassional stall thrown in for excitement...

    Power steering pump R&R

So here's an update. Upon closer examination and further surfing, I've come up with the following: Pump: 1 high pressure output port (16mm x 1.5) for hose to the Hydroboost unit 2 low pressure inlet ports for simple slip-on return hose and clamp, 1 returns from Hydroboost, 1 from the...
