Hauled another load! Picked up this nice grass hay near Williams Fork Reservoir then hauled it over Berthoud Pass and down the hill home. 7 ton this time, trailer is at 5,500. She went up over the pass no problem but coming down was a bit sketch! If i didnt have the turbo brake in my tow tune i would have been screwed. Tranny did great never broke 195. Truck and trailer might need new brakes!

It was mike, and it im sure it helped some as well. But when I got some boost built up down shifting with the manual button, thats what really helped

When you go to manual mode, it disables grade braking so you have to manually kick it down to get it up in the RPM's. 4800 is about as high as the TCM will take it, but 4900 won't hurt it.

Manual mode is nice, been down some 7 percent 6 mile grades with a decent load in 4th and it held back real well.

Only 4000 RPM's? My 01 will shoot right up to 4900 without hesitation.

Never needed to run my 06 that high, saw 4k a few times but I only have a few hill entrances and know to slow down ahead of time.
