93 K2500 Mechanical with an ATT ?

Look real clean.
Im in the same boat as far as clean up go's. Just sandblasted all the tins, manifold and intake. With some paint they look new again.
Reminds me I need to update my own thread :hihi:

Thanks. It is amazing what a little time spent cleaning, and some paint can do for some old crusty parts. I intend to put an ATT on it, but I haven't even driven the truck yet, and would like to make sure the transmission, as well as the rest of the drivetrain is solid before I spend all my extra money on upgrades. I spent some time cleaning, and painting the engine compartment as well. Next I have alot of cleanup to do on the wiring. Here are a few pics. Thanks

Matt

Looks nice!

I got the same effect without the paint when I had a bad exhaust manifold leak. :hihi:

Well, I got a little time today to start pulling the 6.5 out of my van. I was going to start on it last Saturday, but I started having second thoughts, as its been a really good van, but in the end I can always put the engine back in it. I just can't bring myself to dump a bunch of money into fixing the trucks 6.5 without knowing if the rest of the trucks drivetrain is ok. So, the engine is coming out of the van.
I did clean the turbo intake up good over the weekend, and there are a couple pics below. Thanks

Matt

I hate working on vans. Seeing your pictures reminds me of how much I do not enjoy working on them. If it were mine, I would probably still be having second thoughts just to have an excuse to stall even longer on pulling the engine out of the van...

I hear ya! While it wasn't the toughest job, if you compare it to pulling the engine out of a truck, its much more difficult!!! :banghead: The engine is out now, and its a 141 casting. I'll start cleaning it up soon, as well as resealing it, so it doesn't leak. Here are a couple pics. Thanks

Matt

I pulled the engine and tranny on a wrecked 93 camaro with an lt1. Now that was a job... It was wrecked in the front so I had cut the entire front off the car and was staring at in the face and the engine and transmission still wouldn't come out together. I think they build those stupid cars around the engine, almost impossible to do anything on them, let alone pull the engine.

I washed the engine that came out of my van today, and pulled the oil pan, and valve covers, as they were leaking a little. The engine is very clean inside, although I found a couple cracks in the mains under the outer bolts that I intend to completely ignore!! :hihi: I intend to rebuild the original engine that came out of the truck eventually, so this one just needs to hold together for awhile. I'll be replacing the front, and rear main seals, harmonic balancer, and I'm thinking about a installing a late model HV oil pump, but we'll see. I also fabbed a turbo master using the original housing. It turned out well.

I NEED SOME HELP WITH MY DB2, AND I STARTED A NEW TOPIC ON IT HERE, SO IF YOU WOULD TAKE A LOOK, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT. Here is the link. http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?42743-Need-Some-Help-With-My-DB2

I had a package come in yesterday. It was a brand new set of Bosch injectors. They're not marine, or high pop, just new (not rebuilt) factory replacement injectors. I got an awesome deal on them, and hopefully I won't have to worry about my injectors for years to come. Here are a few pics. Thanks
