A Better Oil Catch Can. Maybe?

Hope it works as well for you Will, as it has for me. I hadn't even checked mine in over 6 months, but after seeing this thread pop up this morning, I checked, and emptied it. It probably had 2-3oz. in it. Other than changing the oil in my truck, I haven't touched anything in about a year now...

Going mechanical with a Moose Omega Marine IP

Its the norm for the time being, as I'm trying to achieve some goals in life. I figure, I'll do this for a couple years, then go back to more normal work schedule. My 6.5 is running great, and has required nothing more than regular maintenance, which is good, since I don't have alot of extra...

Going mechanical with a Moose Omega Marine IP

Wow, I really don't visit here enough! Awesome project, and I cant wait for the results. That looks like it will be a very impressive pump, and I love those fuel numbers. I love seeing you ingenuity as well. Nice bracket! I changed jobs, and have been putting in 50-60 hour work weeks for the...

My Water to Air intercooler install

Nice work as always Nate! I may have to look into that band saw, as it would make a very handy addition to my shop. I look forward to seeing the finished product. :) Matt

    A military rebuilt 6.5

Looks really good Nate, and I like the valve covers much better in your grey paint. Matt

A Better Oil Catch Can. Maybe?

Ouch, that is high! My plastic fittings are still holding up well. Its been 9 months, and at least 15 thousand miles. If they do melt, I'll replace them with steel. Matt

    A military rebuilt 6.5

Very cool pics Nate!!! So, whats the scoop on the twin turbo tuned port engine? When I was a kid my dad took me to the Henry Ford Museum, and that was an awesome time. Matt

    A military rebuilt 6.5

Anytime you make it this far south Nate, just let me know, and I'll throw a brisket on the smoker. Oh, and forget riding in the truck, I'll let you drive it. :) Matt

    A military rebuilt 6.5

You would not. Besides, I need my 383, because if we ever meet up, I have no intention of being in the lane next to your beast with my 6.5. :D Matt

    A military rebuilt 6.5

Everything looks great there Nate, and I'm really digging the shorter coated crown pistons, as well as the total seal ring. I'm a bit jealous actually. :D Hopefully this will be the last time you ever have this engine apart again. :) Matt

Long, slow build of my truck

While I certainly can't speak from experience, I would think a tune dialed in for an HX35 would be very different from one for the larger non gated ATT. Was the turbo in good shape? Matt

Making a tube header for the turbo side

Nate, you are Hard Core! That is some amazing work, and look forward to seeing how it works out. Matt

    Pseudo-Resto 96 K-1500…Um, when was this a good idea?

Glad to see your truck coming together Paul. You do nice work, and I like your "while I'm there" extras. Its always makes me feel better about a job, if I tidy things up while I'm there. :) Matt

    A military rebuilt 6.5

Wow! I'm really sorry to hear that Nate. I didn't realize you had been having any trouble with it. The melted piston is really wild. Matt

A Better Oil Catch Can. Maybe?

Thanks for all the great comments guys, and I think its great that others are benefiting from this setup. Thanks Will. Thats easier said than done, on the living vicariously through the other awesome builds happening here. :D I already went out and popped the hood on my truck a little while ago...

My Water to Air intercooler install

Very Nice Nate. :) You do first class work, so I'm sure it will turn out very well, and I look forward to following. Matt

A Better Oil Catch Can. Maybe?

Thats great news Rob. I have over 10k on this setup now, and its worked amazingly well. I had to replace the idler arm on my front end a couple weeks ago, which required removing my intercooler. There wasn't so much as a drip of oil inside it. My 6.5 is leak free, and runs great. I know I...
