IIRC removing the OS filter on OBD1 (94-95) trucks is not recommended. It's been found to not be necessary on 96 and up OBD2 trucks. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
My '83 had the drains mounted on the frame right behind the fuel tanks believe it's supposed to be a water drain for the tank, never opened mine and due to Minnesota winters they probably won't budge. As far as the return lines on the injectors if they are the braided style they do not need...
Agree with Just a number most likely the front crank seal oil getting flung around by the fan. Clean it up with brake clean, start it up and watch for drips.
That's what I was afraid of! I guess i bought it cheap enough another $100 onto it won't be so bad. I guess I will be contacting bully dog tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys!
Bought a used bully dog GT. Previous owner did not return it to stock when he removed it. He now installed a H&S tuner. If i hook the bully dog back to his truck and return to stock will it still work or does the H&S write over all the bully dog data? Bully Dog can unlock it for $100 if need be...
I usually tighten the P.S. from underneath the truck... IIRC there is a spot in the bracket for a 1/2" drive ratchet... or use a pry bar BUT BE CAREFULL where you pry! I've seen someone poke a hole in the resivor before
That would be the reason my Duramax sits in the garage most of the winter!! Lol If it doess get drove in the salt it gets sprayed off for sure! Which is what started all this had to get the old reliable 6.2 all fixed up for winter
Pepperidge... that is my next purchase some big flares that will cover all that uglyness up! As far as the rust goes I just had a 1996 chevy in the shop this week that was worse! Makes the 5th truck I've seen with the frame rotted in the same spot... seen a 88, 91, my 93, a 94 and now 96. This...
I've got some before and after of the truck and the rims, i will take some this weekend of my filter setup... 1st pic rims when i got them. 2nd is after I got done sanding and polishing. 3rd rims on the truck with LT285/75/16 Trailcutter R/T's on them. 4th is my true dual exhaust setup. 5th the...
Like the title says i haven't been on in awhile, way too long in fact! So i thought i would log on and update some changes I've made on the old 6.2. First off to start the whole project i needed tires had no driving or steering complaints other then funny tire wear... but boy did I have issues...
It was mouser electronics i think. Im at work right now when i get home tonight i'll post the site and the part number. They were 36 cents a piece, cost more to ship then that!
Just a update I did find the pin's using a delphi part number. My local dealer couldn't find them but i found a place online that sells them. Got it all hooked up, works awesome. Biggest challenge was finding a place to get through the firewall, but all in all it took about a hour to do it.
It has the elevated idle for when it's really cold out, but i want to hook it up so i can speed it up when i want. Pin 6 on the bottom connector of the ECM is for PTO, push set on the cruise and it will go up to 1150 RPM, resume goes to 1700 RPM i think. Max power did a write up on this at the...
Hey guys, Im sorta new to the duramax world, finally got one! Anyway i want to do the High Idle mod on my LLY. Went to the dealer and got a pin for the ECM but it's the wrong one. The one they gave me turns out to be the same as the pin's i already had from a LB7 i did high idle on. The part...
I've done a few, the right side is the worst but it's not so bad. Unbolt the CV shaft from the axle and move it to the side. The axle will pop out from the housing, problem is there is a little washer inside that falls out of place so you have to take the bolts out that hold the right side of...
