Just got back from 3000 mile trip....Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. 18.8, 19.6, 19.8, 20.1, 19.9, 20.0, and 19.7. Filled to top of neck every time. Takes a while to putting last 3 gallons. No check engine light and no issues. Starts much better when cold. Previous...
After fooling all afternoon, retarded it more than I thought I needed to and FINALLY got it to drop from a constant -2.02 (which is apparently max ) down to 1.74. Check engine lamp stays off and I was able to delete dtc88 which kept staying in memory even after I deleted it and history. Good...
I'll see what I can do to change it today. Just learning the use of the GMTD program on a laptop. Also, the setting of the timing tutorial is somewhat confusing or too technical.
Just purchased and hooked up GMTD Scan Tech with my laptop and got the following settings: Engine hot idle- Desired injection timing 8.6, Actual injection timing 11.8, TDC offset -2.02
Check engine light comes and goes frequently; Scan Tech indicates timing error. Are these settings advanced...
Noise and drone is probably different for everyone's taste. Might have some to do with stainless exhaust, since pipe and muffler have thinner material. I have a regular cab.
2005 Duramax. When coming to a stop at a traffic light, the brakes fade at about 5 to 10 MPH. No lights come on on dash. Fluid ok.Work normally every where else. Had a couple close calls.
I have them in mine and they work fine. Bought them and some other performance items before finding this site. Some people here have issues with Walt; those forever glow plugs come to mind. I did have three of those burn out and he replaced them.
The route coming back had more hills; got tired of the traffic and rough roads on the interstate. Running on the level, it usually pulls 2 1/2 to 3 lbs boost, even with the gear vendors engaged; 1750rpm at 70. Although the several grades did not allow it's use. 3rd over worked great with load...
Have come back from 800 mile round trip. Glad I got the 16 gallon reservoir or I would have had to stop and find water to fill it mid trip. BTW it has a drain already installed and the Heath strainer tank tap fit right into the threaded drain. Tightened the nut on fitting and it sealed right up.
360 miles one way loaded...about 12 gallons, unloaded on return, about 5 gallons. Invisible in use. 16.19 mpg towing medium load. Cruised at 60 on mostly hilly with a couple medium mountains. Pa to Mass.
