My nephew has the 1986 6.2 k2500 and handshaker transmorgifier. the occasional trail is the worst of it the truck should get. Even mix of city/hiway driving and he doesn’t try to go fast. No towing to speak of, occasionally (once a year for 30 miles) a car trailer with a pickup on it.
It’s acting like it due for a clutch. Its first clutch seems not happy after decades of sitting unused and still under 70,000 miles on it, but the first 65,000 miles was a mine truck in Colorado so it might have worked back in the day. Anyways…
Which clutch, throw out bearing, etc. should he look for and which to stay away from?
Wishing it was the 6.5 rear seal because I would tell him do it at same time since I have the tool, but two piece- only gonna say it if flat needed.
