Hey everyone new to this site and chevy diesels, have been around powerstrokes for as long as I could work on trucks but bought myself a project. Its a 1992 k1500 with the 6.2 and 700r4, she needs some work but runs decent. So far I have ran a new fuel line from the electric fuel pump to a napa filter base with a 3123 filter/water sperator and a line from that to the ip to get rid of the leaky box filter, newer radiator, flushed the transmission and put new to me rims and tires on it. Next on the list is to fix the leaky 4x4 oil filter adapter. Also has a wierd trans problem, It usually revs out to 2500 rpm in first and skips second to go straight to third and will not shift to fourth, im thinking it is the servo since it didnt have very much metal at all in the pan when I droped it and that they both worked when I bought it. Also I want to make my own posi lok for the front end since the thermal actuator takes forever to engauge 4x4. 2014-12-18 08.26.54.jpg 2015-02-02 17.27.50.jpg

Thanks guys and will Thats exactly what I want, just dont want to spend the money, was thinking about trying to make something by gutting the origional actuator and using a choke cable to actuate it

A few have made there own posi lok cables, but it will take some work on your part to do it. Find a shop that makes cables, and have them make you a heavy duty push pull cable. Gut the end of your thermal actuator, and then use it as your cable holder. Hook the cable into what is left of the gutted thermal actuator, and then you will have to devise something to go inside to push in and engage the front axle. With JEEPS it is a bit easier to do than on a GM since you can modify the JEEP to pull style cable whereas the GM design is pretty well imited to using a push cableunless you rig up a flucrum arm on the outside to convert the pull to a push motion.
