My new garage.

I will plaster the outside and inside with facade putty, maybe go over it with a foam roller to give it texture, and paint it with facade paint.

I started building a garage to learn how to work with these blocks. Then I'll build a house, and maybe I'll chamfer each block and just paint it with vapor-proof paint.

In the picture Blocks with chamfered edges. External finishing is not even required, just paint.

Over here, they started installing closed cellular foam board to the exterior of some builldings then using some kind of s cement/grout looking stuff to spread over them.
Gives it a sort of a stucco look but with great insulation value.

They had a lot of problems with that years ago.

In astray Foam Magazine, I saw 2 houses that had a spray foam exterior.

One I think in Oregon and the other I think in Arizona. The house in Arizona had an Adobe look.

The house in Oregon was owned by a Foam contractor and he used to mess with his house for different looks.

I always thought I'd be interested in going that route. I could never come up with a good coating
I'm not sure what's available these days.
I'd still be interested if we can get the house rebuilt

I’ll get a picture of this building.
This one was done about six or so years ago. Looks solid as a rock.
Pic after I get home in bout a half hour. 😹

Closed cell insulation might be the key to that system working now.

Back in the day they used blue board and pink board - both of which will absorb moisture like a sponge.

The R-Control white 2 lb density foam.board was probably prohibitively expensive.
You could get the R-Control board made with bug killer in it

We used it under hydronic flooring along with the wide bubble wrap/ reflective insulation. That had a peel and stick tape seam on one side. We used for a vapor barrier in place of visqueen

It was once a real nice grocery store.
Is solid concrete then the foam boards placed over the concrete.
I’m not sure about the fastening devices.
After it was all sheeted in then they sprayed this stuff on the foam.

I loved going into Sawyers store. Fresh meat hanging, fresh burger in the glass cooler, candy, candy bars. Ice cream snacks.
What a treat but too poor to spend much.
I sold news papers on the streets, ten cents, a nickel profit.
I’d save my money and buy some apples or peaches, something that could be made into a dessert. Sometimes a quart of milk.
It all helped. 😃
