Modified 6.5 Build

Swapped the charge pump regulator with a previously modded one. I also upgraded the spring. Now It has 85 psi at idle ,and max psi of 125. This advanced the timing enough to enamble the ip to be at the line.

Well we drove it a few miles. Makes 20 psi boost ,prob will do a bit more, but kept blowing off intercooler boots. Has a bit to much timing at part throttle , and hazes a tiny bit at idle. It has a nice exhaust sound also.

Well it makes 28 to 30 psi boost. The timing needs some fiddling with . The lowered compression, combined with a big intercooler makes the idle timing a bit complicated. I'm going to have to bump up the idle speed . Also the clutch slips , ceramic, but stock pressure plate.

Got the timing pretty good now. It's either the 3500 psi pop injectors,or the .040 shaved pistons plus .010 over gaskets, thats delaying idle ignition timing. The pump internal advance is all the way maxed at idle, and the ip is advanced alittle past the line. So it has a ton of injection advance at idle,to get clear exhaust, only after the motor is warm.

Do you have a Ferret or something else to measure your timing or do you just do it by sound?

Sharp looking rig.
