boost solenoid question

ok so i went to napa to get the boost solenoid today,, they only carry them for the 6.5l up to 97,, my truck is a 98,, does anyone know what the difference is??

(the reason i went to napa is becasue i get a pretty nice discount there,,,)

Same basic solonoid, but the 98-02 one has a filter in the end of it to keep debris out whereas the 94-97 does not have a filter in it.

good to know,, i just ran to the local GM dealership,, they had one for my 98 on stock for $35,,, put it on and it fixed my issue

Once a month... remove the vac line from the wastegate and spray a little WD-40 in it. It will help to lubricate the little check ball in the solenoid. "Supposedly", it makes the solenoid last longer...
