Alrighty guys. Background on my truck. I have a Superlift 6" lift kit on my truck. It relocates the diff down & has a crossmember bar that runs from one side to the other in place of the diff up top. Well, I've been running the AVNW mounts for a few months now & I haven't had much issue. However, as of lately, the oil pan was contacting that crossmember bar upon shut down & start up. I would adjust but the rubber 1st gen mounts would just flex back to where they wanted to be.
Due to this, I decided to purchase a set of mounts from Screemin Seeman offroad. Right off the bat, these mounts are much much beefier. They bolt to the engine in the same mounts as a 2nd gen, & then bolt to the Chevy gmt400 frame in the same holes as the stock Chevy clam mounts. However, as with most, the upper lip of the frame mounting perch has to be removed (which I had done already for the swap). The mounts bolted to the engine completely fine, however, bolting them to the frame was another story. Took a buddy & I about an hour to get them right (we think). I couldnt get the brackets that bolt to the frame to line up or sit flush. After loosening one side & then using all 4 bolts (per side) to pull the bracket down, they now sit flush. This was a challenge as we has to jump from side to side, front bolt to rear bolt, etc etc. Just to get the bracket to sit flush. Was a bit of a pain.
However, all that is worth it in the end. The Cummins doesn't move at all! No vibrations to the cab, no shaking, etc. Even blipping the throttle & trying to get the engine to shake, shes solid! (Shakes a little, but not nearly as bad as the 1st gen AVNW mounts)
