The 4bt Cummins or 4bd Isuzu are both capable of much more tq/hp, but be prepaired for alot more vibration at idle. I found a sweet spot on my Isuzu while in gear at idle where its not bad, but the mirrors still shake. As soon as your off idle though its all worth it.

They sell balance shafts to smooth out the 4bt Cummins. Some of the 4bts came with balance shafts.

I have a nv4500 behind my Cummins conversion but a 4L80E has been documented and successful in Chevy builds to manage a Cummins. Good luck on your build.

No automatic I dont beleive an automatic should be behind a diesel engine unless it s an Allison Im going Nv4500 and divorce mount NP 205 t case, I have another question for you how did you run the tach on your truck ?? Oh and how can i make my pictures smaller so I can post them I tried putting them in a zipp file and loading them that way but it didnt work.
