4.3L blows tons of white smoke

well I decided to give a update....the shop started the Jimmy and the oil cooler line popped off dumping most of the oil out onto the bay, nothing but headaches as they put a crank kit trying to get oil pressure up and stable, removed motor again to put in a different motor, wrong VIN, so now we are waiting for another motor to be found. My wife is sick of this mess. Atleast the shop is spending their money trying to fix it.

wished I had the time to rebuild it, Idon't have the tools or time to do that. Would rather buy a rebuilld one and have it installed. But atleast they are helping......

The Jimmy is back at the house, runs like a scalded dog. Mechanic shop put a different engine in and steamed cleaned it, new front and rear oil seal, and a few extras, They don't want to see us anytime soon....

Hopefully this one holds up.

Thats what my wife said....The motor came outof a van, so I am hoping it wasn't hot rodded or anything.

Dayum......

When I worked at the bus garage one of the van drivers would park at one of the schools to pick up the retarded kids. She would park where the kids get picked up, not it the bus parking. I guess it took longer for the retarded kids to get in the van then normal kids. Some soccer mom that drove a ford pickup was pissed that she was parked there so long and was raising hell. I guess she would sit there behind the van reving the engine and doing burnouts trying to scare the van driver.

Well the drama continues......wife called and said she see steam coming out and pulls over while delivering mail, I arrive 30 minutes later and discovered the lower radiator hose is off from the waterpump, reinstalled this, filled up with coolant and almost home and wife called again, strange sound coming from the motor. I turn around and go back to her location and listened to the horrible sound. I think it is a rod...called the shop owner and you could almost hear him cry. I am about tired of this and wish it would end.

Since it was a pressure clamp, Original style I know thsat they didn't push it all the way onto the water pump and when it builted up pressure it came off....I am so tired of this drama

I'll sell you the engine in my jimmy, its already got almost 200,000 trouble free miles and a new set of head gaskets.
