1975 Ford 3550 backhoe cav4 issues

Hey, those old 3550s are tanks, but the CAV4 pump can be a pain when it starts acting up. I’d check the fuel delivery first, sometimes it’s just air sneaking in the lines or a weak lift pump before you tear into the injection system. Had a similar issue once with my used backhoe, turned out to be a tiny crack in the return line.

Seeing as this was dug back up...

What is the actual engine? Perkins uses CAV pumps, so perhaps there is some overlap with the 3550's engine.
I don't know. I always assumed it was a Ford engine.

I got that issue fixed.

Quite some time back, I sucked air into the cav pump.

In my stupor I didn't notice all of the fuel had leaked out of the fuel tank.

I had just filled it and never looked at the fuel gauge before trying to start it.

The fuel tank developed a leak and since my smaller doesn't work so well, I never noticed the fuel had leaked out on the dirt floor.

I haven't been able to find anyone to hire to fix it. And I haven't been up to it yet

I have a torch they could use to get the tank that's in there out.

My wife said she saw one of these guys at the tire shop a couple days ago.

She said he right off started telling stories about me.

He didn't mention about installing a grain.spreader off ladders on top of corn in an empty 100,000 bushel grain bin.

It was very cold and there was a frozen crust. Went right to a saloon when we found out the bin was empty.

Haven't heard anything about the other 2 lately
