What to use to remove factory 4L80E NSS connector sealant?

Well, I looked all over the junk yard for a place to plug in the hair dryer I always keep in the tool bag, but there just wasn't a single outlet to be found in the yard 🤷🏻‍♂️ Nor DID I YANK ANYTHING APART...🙄. Just because you brute force everything doesn't mean everyone else does too. I...

    Upgrade engine

A bigger turbo isn't going to do jack all for you without the ability to flow more fuel as well, the factory injection pumps on these things are close to maxed out already, and the factory turbo flows more air than the pump can handle already. Sure, throw a bigger turbo on it, along with a...

    Upgrade engine

I never said it was the best option 😅. Though there are plenty of factory EFI 454s and 496s out there too. The Vortec 8100 puts down better numbers than the 6.0 out of the box, though it's going to be guzzling considerably more gas doing it. Would the Dmax even fit in the engine bay though...

What to use to remove factory 4L80E NSS connector sealant?

Pulled a pair of pigtails for 4L80E range/neutral safety switches out of the junkyard today....thought they were glued in, as I had to break both switches to get the plugs out, but I've since read it's a factory sealant....that apparently turns into glue at some point, lol. What removes this...

How much of a pain is it really to install/remove a roof top tent?

Loader - check. Bucket goes 10ft+ up. Blazer was on a 6" lift and 35s, and I had plenty of room to clear the truck when the top came off. That one was easy - strap a couple pallets to the forks, slip it under the top, and lift. I'm kind of going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing the...

How much of a pain is it really to install/remove a roof top tent?

I've been running a Kodiak canvas truck bed tent for some years when we go camping in areas where it would be impractical to take the Lance slide in, and while it is an excellent piece of kit, like all tents...it can be a real pain to put up and take down. Especially when you arrive at camp...

Any new sources for rubber intake elbow?

Well I'll be...actually is still a current part. I just assumed it would have been long since discontinued, but all the online dealers are showing it as an available part. CAIs - https://puredieselpower.com/chevy-gm-products/6.5l-turbo-diesel/chevy-turbo-diesel-air-intakes though I have...

Any new sources for rubber intake elbow?

'96 K2500, the rubber elbow part that goes between turbo and air filter box...mine has a huge crack right where the worm clamp sits at the turbo. Any new sources for this thing, or is aftermarket CAI my only option now for new?

Anyone still make a full replacement pillar gauge mount for 88-98 trucks?

Looks like it covers the bottom section, but the top section sticks out like a sore thumb to me... Maybe we're talking about two different things here?

Anyone still make a full replacement pillar gauge mount for 88-98 trucks?

That would be acceptable, as I really just don't want the add on look. Unfortunately, that one isn't going to work for me either, as my truck is a '96, and I forgot that the interior trim changed with the updated interior in '95. EDIT: Found the one for 94-98 trucks, but it still doesn't...

Anyone still make a full replacement pillar gauge mount for 88-98 trucks?

Just as the title says - want a gauge mount that completely replaces the pillar trim, and not just is taped/glued/screwed to the existing trim. Besides it looking like a broke high school kid's hack job to me, my pillar trim needs replacing anyways. I remember having bought one for my '89...

4L80E factory installed OSS with no reluctor? Tracking down a no shift condition...

Turns out I did goof, though thankfully not internal to the trans. I missed a connection in the wiring harness - there's an extension connector in the harness going back to the t-case that fits the OSS sensor connector. So it looks like the OSS sensor is just used as a rather expensive dummy...

4L80E factory installed OSS with no reluctor? Tracking down a no shift condition...

1996 K2500HD 6.5 diesel. Was a daily driver until the injection pump failed. I pulled the trans to swap into my K5 temporarily, then went through and refreshed the trans when I put it back in the truck. Worked fine, but had 220K miles on it at that point and a few thousand behind a healthy...
