    Alternator charge wire???

Generally the result of poor engineering practices - i.e. Not derating the wire for the under hood heat. Run the truck till it's hot with your best (worst?) electrical load... Lights on - Stereo cranked up, etc. Park the truck but don't turn it off and feel the battery charging wire (carefull...

help, husband wants to sell it if we can't fix it

Usually additional grounds are from either the battery negative or from the other end of the big wire off of the battery negative. These are band-aids... The stock ground configuration works fine if in good shape. YMMV, however, if you run some HEAVY loads - Like some stereo amps, banks of...

Horn Blows, (does the driver?), Blows a fuse that is

Schematic shows nothing on that circuit (20 Amp) but the horn relay and 2 horns. Disconnect both horns and see if the fuse still blows. If it does the wiring in either the slip ring or to/from the relay. If it doesn't - Connect one horn & try again. Have FUN!

    Painted black Wheels (any info?)

I'd, at the very least, break the bead so that you can paint the edge properly. I really think that powder coating is the way to go on wheels.

one issue after another!!!, now rattling?!??!

With the belt off see if you can rotate the crank pulley. It shouldn't - It's a rubber mounted wheel to another wheel. When my crank pulley went bad it made a pretty loud clunk when the engine was turned off.

    Painted black Wheels (any info?)

Step 1 - Remove the tire from the wheel. Step 2 -- Have the wheel powder coated. Step 3 --- Put the tire back on the wheel. Step 4 ---- Have the tire/wheel balanced. Repeat for the other 4.

    6.5 Powers Obama's Caddy?

Wrong picture :) Idiot neighbor used to let his dog roam the neighborhood... Get the picture now? (TN has a state wide leash law, btw. Zapping the dog was the dog owner's fault, not mine)

    6.5 Powers Obama's Caddy?

Sounds like the block heater's ground wire is missing :) Mine will do that but I still have to worry about hydrogen bombs screwing up the FSD. Just had a thought  - If some country does a nation wide bombing with EMP bombs our friend Mr. Heath could be put out of biz - Then what...

    Yet another stalling problem

Charge up them batteries, let them sit over night, and test each cell with a hydrometer. That will end the questionable part of the batteries... Next time you get it run let it get up to temp, shut it down, wait 5 minutes and feel the FSD. If it's not cool - Move it... Sure sounds like FSD...

    Oil Analysis

:out: Also a superior way to find bad bearings, rings, and oil pumps. I sometimes feel like putting on my suit (honest - I have one) when I go riding. Hey - They try to dress like me when they ride. Those same idiots will be raising hell come spring cause that POS Harley already needs a...

Another broken crankshaft - I'm gonna cry.

That's an interesting statement... Is this an OK procedure - Experts? I've never done it that way - I always remove all of the head bolts (in the reverse sequence that they were put on) and then put the studs in - torquing them in sequence. Have I been wasting my time? It kinda sounds like a...

    Alternator charge wire???

Voltage regulator regulates VOLTAGE - It's Voltage X Current that blows thing up. The wire and fusible link combo is sized so that you can't overcurrent the battery. If a battery *goes* while the hood is down you have a mess. If you're mucking about in there with the hood up when one goes...

    I just wasted 3+ hours......

You've never met my brother-in-law, have you :) Saying in this part of the country is - If it ain't broke give it Jim - It soon will be!

    Alternator charge wire???

Simple - Over current at a battery for a fairly short period of time will most likely cause it to EXPLODE. This is what we in the electrical trade call Not Good. A battery with a shorted cell will draw all the current that it can get. The fusable link (hopefully) keeps this from happening.

    Dying question.

    Battery and ECM connections too.

-11F (without wind chill) and it fired right up!

Maybe a quicky with a lawyer. Some states don't allow *as is* through a dealer - Just private sales. Don't know about WI though.

    Alternator charge wire???

2 would be even more cool - 1 for each bank.... Looked up DC Amp Meters on Mouser - WOW - Big $$$ But there are several on eBay for reasonable money. Sounds like a great idea to me! If you're serious - I'd find out the initial surge current on 1 glow first. For all 8 figure 80A after the...

    Alternator charge wire???

Google DC wire ampacity. Keep in mind that most charts are for a standard day, the ampacity has to be derated for under hood temperatures.
