Think I might have a blown battery....will not hold a charge....AND, it is within warranty but now that Lee Auto Parts does not sell Exide anymore, they are not going to warranty the battery....assholes.....3 year warranty and I have had it 2 years....BS
So, I need to pull the battery out of my...
OKAY, been a while since I posted on here.
I am currently (and have been for a while now) been having a power draw from inside the truck cab.
There seems to be a relay way up under the dash that is pulling 1 volt of power when the key is off.
What currently happens is the truck sits for two...
I am under the assumption that by having a low "static CR" and an increase in boost will improve you volumetric efficiency which makes your motor more efficient and is capable of handling a higher "effective CR"? Does that sound right?
Also, aren't the newer D-maxes down to 16:1 and they run...
Well, it has not been hiccuping anymore...I changed nothing...but it is warmer out...
Right now, I am on the quest for efficiency and am going to leave the TDCO at the current setting. I am going to run another tank of fuel, get my MPG and then change it back to about -1.5. I believe that...
It really only seems to do it cold....so I would almost rule out the PMD...also, my PMD is far far from the engine.
Lift pump... I might give that a check...
Have not posted in a while but I a need some help on this one.
My truck has been hiccuping in the morning or after it sits for a while.
I will fire it up in the morning, pull out of my driveway all fine and dandy but as soon as I start to get up to about 20 mph and accelerate easily , the...
I'll send you my Wester's and you can put it in your truck and see how it compares. You send me your new tune and I will let you know it works in my truck?
You need to put more boost in than 14 psi. Trust me on this. I have been running 25 psi on my motor for over 40K miles now.
I crept up to that number and the difference from 14 up to 25 is BIG. And with an intercooler, the power is awesome.
My understanding of thew new pump from the Wester's DS4 is that it has larger plungers in the pump.
Also, just because the ECM says that the pump is at 90 mm^3 does not mean that is what it is putting out. There is not a flow meter attached to the pump or lines, it is a calculation.
I...
Yep, he is the man on this one. Although, the connection was good, it was the wire that was shot. I had made the wire too taught trying to ground on the manifold. The wire then was rubbing across a rough spot on the manifold, became bare and must have gotten full of road salt and water...
Well, I fixed it, not gonna believe this one.
The small ground wire that was on goes to the PMD was cut and corroded. As the truck warned up, the wire would get hot and loose connection.
So, it was mentioned before, CHECK ALL GROUNDS.
I have 7 psi at the "T". Also, if I pull the Fuel Shut-off Solenoid and turn the key on, I have fuel shooting out of the IP.
ALL GOOD SUGGESTIONS GUYS!
I am going to pull the ECT and let it run.
I will also pull the CPS.
And I will take off the PMD extension.
I did open up the filter "air bleed" and there was no air.
I also unplugged the OS and it would not start.
I have a harness extension, I am going to check that, good idea.
There is something weird though. Why would it start up fine, run for 5 minutes and then just die? It is like as the...
I went home at lunch time and the truck once again fired right up.
I let it run and the truck once again just purred like a kitten.
After 6 minutes, the truck just died.
No start after that.
And no codes.
What should I try with the OS (optical sensor)???
Well, I am going to pull the alternator at lunch, take in it in and have it checked for output. I am curious as to why it is failing.
Also, I checked on the cam/crank sensor. It is $50 bucks and I can one here today but I DO NOT want to go into trial and error with this truck. I have done...
