OK-the issues first--Select first, you get first and second. Select second, you get first and second. Only thing that changes is the 1-2 shift point.
Not all of you may think of this as an issue but I do. I learned along time ago that starting on snow or ice is often better done in second...
Does anyone know how much boost triggers the fault?? Is it just an over boost or is it a "difference" number compared to what the ECM thinks it should be?? I read somewhere that it triggers when the ECM tries to lower boost and that does not happen. Can anyone clarify how this works...
A 20% increase in rear brake power can be had for under $30.
There is a 1 3/16" dia. wheel cylinder used on some 1 ton 454's that fits perfectly on all models with smaller diameter wheel cylinders. Some are 1" and others are 1 1/16". Here are part numbers:

OK guys, RPO code is G80. Was told rear end is 14 bolt Dana 70 but that don't work. Per pics looking at the back of the 70 the tall point would be to the drivers side of center. Mine has tall part on passenger side of center--14 bolt pattern tho. Best I found was something about a...
My sig truck has been running great--til Saturday morning. Fired up fine, about the time the temp gauge came off the bottom it quit cold. No restart. Sat for about 10 minutes and started right up--repeat every 10 minutes or so.
I thought OH-OH, PMD. Got it home did some quick checks. NO...
Friend right down the street has a 95 EX cab 6.5 F Turbo truck. He, and I, would like to know the success rate of just installing new nozzles on an existing set of injectors on a DIY basis.
Don't know where this should go but since it comes down to electrical I put it here as a start. Mods feel free to put it wherever you think it would help the most.
This info is from several sites plus notes I made when I did it for my sig truck.
Different tire sizes make the Speedo wrong...
I posted in suspension re "bunny hop", in searching for cause, I think I found it, Eaton kind of calls this "slip stick".
Quick recap of what I found, 1989 is a break year, before that they use Mineral oil with a LS additive, from then on they used synthetic. It is NOT reccommended to use...
Went out yesterday on the back roads and did some "let's see how this does" kinda playing around with my sig truck. Tires are stock size, semi-agressive M/S tread and near new.
Has alot of axle hop in 2WD when it breaks loose under torque. Has the LS / lock up rear end and I am not sure how...
AC is full width, trans, engine and PS stack is on drivers side to about half way across, leaves passenger side available for heat exchanger. I live where I need to haul water to underground tank. Normally I use an 86 Ford 350 CS with a 500 gallon tank. This morning I slid the tank to the...
In need of the right pully. Aparrently, '94 diesels are the only year that used the alternator as a source for the tach. My alternator was replaced and no one checked the pully, original got turned in for exchange and new one has a much smaller pulley so tach reads way high. Right size is 2...
Where did GM put the temp switches for the aux fans?? I got two, one on passenger side runs with the AC and OK, other runs with a temp switch, never comes on. Where is it??
Two of the gauges I know are not reading properly. Here's a recap: Voltmeter reads low and so does the temp gauge. I get 14.1 on the battery terminals with it running, gauge shows about 12 volts--(1 1/2 notch below the 14 volt mark). Temp gauge reading about 175 degrees but the ECT sensor...
Per sig. '94 L65HO/4L80EHD. Totally stock engine and trans, I think. A bit worried about the RPM at WOT shift. In all gears it shifts at 3750. That's in the shaded red on the tach and above the spec for max RPM for the engine.
Shifts are solid, TCC locks firm in both third and fourth at...
Bottom two speeds on HVAC did not work--digging after the resistors and found a module directly below the glove box with two push pins to the front of the lower dash. It's about 4" x 4" x 1" and marked QWP. Does any one know what it does/is???
Question---Priming. Wiring shows the lift pump relay connects the pump to a "priming" circuit when off and to the battery when on during start. Where does that priming circuit end up going???? Also, is there a switch or button somewhere to prime it???
My research so far finds very little...
Am being a bit A---Retentive with my truck so checking everything. Was starting OK but more grey smoke than I thought it should have so I got out the meter and checked the glow plugs. Found two on the driver side that were open circuit. Went to the zone and got 8 new GP's, per the various...
1994 Silverado HD, 6.5THO, in low range the tranny, a 4L80EHD, shift points are very high and very hard. Have read that the ECM should re-program the tranny, also read Tech Bulitin 343 from '99 which says that this happens if the ECM loses the low range switched +12. I know the axle is locking...
