Not a typical P0678 Glow Plug Code

I've been having trouble with a P0678 code. Changed the glow plug (drivers rear, #8) but the code continued to come back. So I traced the wire by checking resistance and checking for a short. Nothing so the GPCM was replaced & reprogrammed. However the code still persists. Went back & checked...

rebuilt built 6.5l Hard Hot Start

Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've posted anything but before I swap the injection pump out I thought I would get some input. Just finished a 6.5l build for my '82. Specs as follows: 1994 block with mechanical IP, bored 0.020 over, Delta Hot cam (I think the hot one is the 206), square pre...

    WMO & EGT's

Hey guys haven't been on here in awhile but I'm finally running 90%+ waste motor oil. I have noticed my egts have been higher (obviously) but lately I can barley go down the bypass without hitting 1100*F in 5th gear (nv4500) with 3.73's. I live in PA so there is some grades from work and back...

Does anyone have a spec on the maximum fuel required in gph for the 4911 pump, or any of them for that matter? Also willing to see formulas for calculating max fuel consumption per hour. I'm just looking to update my fuel pump sometime and don't want to waste the money over doing it too much...

    Injector tap!!

I just put my Bosch Marie nozzles in, popping at 2650-2700 psi. I swear the turbo whistles more now maybe because the engine tone is different. Anyhow I know which injector is tapping, it was torqued correctly to 50 ft lbs. I don't notice the tap until the engine was warmed up and after my...

    filtering oil to burn

So I set up my filter unit, started off with a inline filter fairly large probably about 30 micron for a gas car then a 6.5 lift pump pulls it through there from the bucket to a 6 micron spin on set up off a mack truck and then through a 2 micron. Fuel line hoses are 3/8 and I have a 3/4 oil and...

    Turbo ID

Hey guys just picked up two turbos, one off of a CAT 3116 and another off a mack truck. The CAT turbo looks like it was built by CAT and has a split t3 or t4 flange, anyhow the one Im having trouble finding info on is the Airesearch turbo off of the mack. It has a split flange which i think is a...

    Hummer/military headers

Do the 6.2 hummer headers fit in the frame of an 82 chevy? They look like they come out farther before the bend. Im thinking about buying a set and using the drivers side and maybe using the passenger side from the hummer to make a mandrel bent header for the turbo manifold. Also has anyone...

Water in Fuel Light (being really tough to fix)

I really need help figuring this one out. Today I changed the primary and secondary fuel filters (the round style) and put a bottle of water remover in each tank but the WIF light is still on. From everything I have read the WIF sensor on the 1982 6.2l trucks is in the tank. However my truck...

My Nv4500 swap underway with a clutch problem

As some of you may know I have started the nv4500 swap in my 82 k20, anyhow I switched to a hydro clutch and a 93 6.5 clutch. The clutch petal has full master cylinder depression, a new clutch line ran and a new slave cylinder. I have bled all the air out and was having problems getting the fork...

Hey everyone it has been awhile since I have gotten on here anyways I'm in the middle of swapping my 4 speed out for the nv4500 and had to fix the 5th gear nut as it was loose. I used the set screw style with red loctite. As I looked through the papers I got with the new solid flywheel and...

Need a OPS that completes a ground when there is OP

hello does anyone know of an OPS (one wire would be best) that completes a circuit when there is OP? I bought one for a 92 Toyoda Camry but it only completes the circuit when there is NO oil pressure which was my fear because then i can't wire the ground of my lift pump to the OPS. I have...

The Holset HE351VE VGT on my 6.2

To those of you who want a cheap and powerful turbo choice! Engine I started with a red block, put ten over fel-pro head gaskets on with ARP head studs and 1983 or newer heads. I used a 6.5 manifold and slotted it for the turbo. Exhaust I used a 90* 3/12 inch bend then immediately...
