Windshield wipers quit working on the 1998 Suburban Any ideas?

Printed circuit board on the wiper motor. I don't usually replace them. I re-solder the bad solder on the board. If you remove the 2 torx screws on the black cover, the circuit board will pull right out. You can get replacement ones at just about any parts house or just re-solder the one you...

    truck is shutting off

...at the fusebox for issues. Check voltages looking for a voltage drop say from the back of the alt and then the cig lighter. The wiper board is known to crack and be a problem of it's own. open it up and resolder the plug connectors on the wiper board. The other things not working could be...

    What does this do?

wiper motor/control board, under the black cover is that circuit board that goes bad and causes wipers to not function, some vehicles depending on vintage had a service bulletin to replace under warranty, "cold solder joints" on relay socket can be repaired, mine had bad relay on both mine, IIRC...

    Resurecting New Engine

Well, im going to be getting the ball rolling on swapping out the medicore doors off my new cab to my truck and junking my super rotted out ones. Two weeks ago my drivers window rotted off the track. I took a bunch of pictures of the new cab (its a POS) but forgot my camera at home, will upload...

    Hello from North Carolina

Hi. I'm a newby. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a 1993 C3500 crewcab dually with a 6.5 turbo, mechanical pump, and 4L80 transmission. The truck has 141,000 miles. Engine was replaced by GM under warranty at around 100,000. I have already found the forum to be a wealth of information. I...

    Wiper Pulse board

I broke my wiper motor when I did my engine swap, but it wasn't much money back then for the whole wiper motor with board assembly.

    Wiper Pulse board

Lost everything but high on my 93. got a new pulse board from Advance (Help!)brand. Was working for a few days and blew the big diode apart again. Defective new board or is something wrong with the motor ? I'm sure the board is made in China crap but two in a row blowing the big diode apart ??

I have now deleted a wastegate. Welcome to the world of ATT

I think so, It was there when I bought it and I had to dig the module out to change the wiper pulse board. I think the po did it to reduce noise. it is even under the master brake cylinder

    Wiper Motor Pulse board.

The one in my Burb crapped out. I bought another one but upon removal of the dead one I noticed the Diode looked like a bomb hit it? Look how the one lead is bent over the other way ?? Anybody have a schematic of a Pulse Board or know off hand the value of that diode ? I could not read the...

    The "restification" of a 98 6.5 TD...

Got a bit of work done on the lower console: I was a little sloppy on pulling a fiberglass form from the cardboard buck, so it needs lots of work. Nothing I can't handle, just time consuming. I probably should have just pulled a mold off the cardboard buck like I had originally planned in...

Injection Pump TDCO @ -2.46 what do I need to do ?

when I bought the truck it was throwing 2 codes. I've replaced injectors, glow plugs, put a 4" diamond eye, 2 1/2 crossover, replaced and relocated the pmd, oil change, transmission flush, new tires, replaced the wiper control board. When I got it it was stalling randomly, blowing white smoke...

blinker indicator and high beam indicator - loosing my mind dash cluster ???

The other day I missed the right turn blinker indicator light on the dash. It wouldn't light up when I turned blinker on. The left one was working fine. When I got home I looked and all the lights were working (usually the indicator comes on solid when a bulb is out). When I got back in...

    why remove vacuum pump

And as far as the wipers go, it's probably the small circuit board on the wiper motor itself, in the engine compartment. I don't think they are very expensive, and if you are handy, easily repairable. There's probably a thread here somewhere about it. Art

    very rough running when hot

ain't that the truth:laughing: I'm just relieved to be able to move on to the little things on the truck that need fixing. -blower motor for heater/ac -rails for power windows -wiper circuit board and start my jar of pennies for when the IP really does go.

    Another 6.5 bites the dirt

No history on the truck available. Bought the rig as its shown in the pic and listed in my SIG off Auto trader online. Rig was only 50 miles away and the lot was quite willing to deal on the price. Had serious battery cable issues and a bad alternator so it ran like crap. Got the rig for...

    Computer problems

There was a recall on the wiper board, the contacts on the board where power and relay connections mount on the board have a cold solder joint, if the relay itself isn't bad you can clean & resolder the joint, neither of my 98s were covered by the recall, GM claimed the problem was "fixed" by...

    Computer problems

I think the '94's are similar to OBII stuff in regards to the wiper control board. Probably, you just need to take it out and re-solder the connections.

    Heater Controls

That is a great find. It looks similar to the issue with the wiper motor circuit board.

    new sub

It is located in the wiper motor. IIRC its pull 4-5 torx screws, remove cover, remove board, replace cover and screws reconnect wire and you are done.
