    WMI reservoir location

Got my Heath WMI today. Looks decent, but a little pricey for what you get. Anyway, what size reservoir are you guys using and where are you locating it. I will be doing a cross country travel trailer towing next year hopefully. Probably a 6500 lb tow with it loaded. Otherwise, I...

    Oil Pressure Dropped........Pump Removal Questions

Your vehicle has more than 272,000 miles? When you hit the high 180,000's, the bearings should all be replaced, including the cam bearings, whether you think so or not. Good time for a new oil pump and timing chain and gears; especially if cylinders have next to no ridge. Too many guys run these...

    ClearWater Cylinder Heads

Put flat tappet lifters back in same bores in the same direction? You do realize that flat tappet lifters rotate on the camshaft lobes. The lobe has a very slight taper and lifter has a very slight dome to cause it to rotate. Pushrods will also rotate. The speed of rotation at idle will indicate...

front air deflectors On or off?

You can get them new on ebay; just need to then get the bolts and body clips from an auto parts store. I just recently added one to mine.

    Connecting rod lengths and weights

Just my opinion of course, but since these engines only run to 3500 rpm, the stock rods and bolts should be plenty stout.Maybe install new oem bolts during build. Also balance imperfections won't be near as noticeable. If you plan 5000 plus rpms, contact Heath and see what he did for the salt...

    Vacuum pump rebuild-able?

The Hamburger should do it, unless the cam like lobe in the base is worn out. Pull the hamburger and check the lobe for damage first.

Is there a better wrench to remove flare nuts

If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they carry crows foot flare wrenches to use with a ratchet or extension. Very reasonable price.Or you could buy just one 3/4" one online from McMaster-Carr

    axle ratio effect chip

Going to tow a travel trailer to Alaska. 3.42 ratio in od .75= 2.56. 4.11 in od .75=3.08 x Gear Vendors in od .75 x .78= .58= 2.40. Even with the power loss of the GV empty, mileage should be close. With trailer, It'll pull better on hills without dropping down so much and give me some gears to...

How do you get the glovebox out?

on my 94, you remove the 2 side screws on each side. Then using a screwdriver, work out the pins holding the cable like door stops. It'll come right out then

    axle ratio effect chip

    axle ratio effect chip

would an axle ratio change from 3.42 to 4.11 effect the driving characteristics with an existing power chip (Heath GL4)? This is with a corrected speedo buffer box. BTW, I know shift speeds will be lower and etc.. I mean, are chips burned based on the old chip specs which were for the old axle...

    6.2 diesel oiling question

Buddy, that is proper info on flat tappet cams. On our roller cams, you can change one, any or all without worry. This is assuming that the camshaft lobes are not damaged by a bad roller. All the lifter parts are interchangeable except the outer and inner body. Those are selective factory fit.

I bought a specialty deep socket to remove it on mine. Also was on a 45 degree elbow.

    Ideal 6.5

I'd like the P400 with about 1/8 bigger bore and a 1/4 inch stroker crank. Nothing like more cubic inches

    6.2 diesel oiling question

The oil to the pushrods come up through the valve lifters.Take the square shaped snap ring out of top of lifter, and remove cap that bottom of pushrod rides in and small flat disc. Look at bottom side of cap. There should be a bump in metal that goes from one side of cap to the other. The disc...

    Thanks Bison

the os clamps tight to IP body through a slotted hole. The threads go into the cam ring that the fuel rollers ride on. Moving the os moves the cam ring one way or the other. This will alter the timing of the start and end of roller movement, sort of like altering camshaft timing in an engine. At...
