I have a 1999 GM 1500, 5.3, new body style that would lock the doors when driving but wouldn't unlock them when put in park or shut off like it was supposed to.
Changed the BCM (Body Control Module) for one out of my 2001 parts truck because i was told that the 99's didn't have a relay or...
Well good news! Changed the TPS and it shifts and idles like it used to.... I guess the TPS operates how it idles and is used to determine shift parameters by the ECM.
Either way... Its nice when the first suggestion works.
Thanks a lot!
Would the throttle position sensor cause both shifting and idling problems?
The coolant seems to be registering fine on the dash... could the sensor be cooked anyway?
This is my 1993 short box, reg cab, 2wd toy truck that I only drive in the summers. So I took the truck out for the first time a day ago... ran fine, shifted fine until i fired it up this morning ...
Wants to idle at ~1200rpm... when it tries to idle down, it attempts to die and surges up to...
Makes sense, In that case, since im doing the rod extension version, how far up could i move the pin in the piston (compression height)...?
I know its not a practical modification as it would require a complete new piston, but for the mathematical analysis stand point i can at least find...
In your professional opinion Buddy, how much would you say would be a safe ammount to grind down these pistons? I dont have one here to look at and decide what would be reasonable.
The onstar fuse wasnt pulled... to their memory, but they did try pull the radio fuse/ turn the radio off and that didnt work... Maybe that's all it needed was the onstar business to be doctored
Yeah, we did test the truck when it was up to opperating temperature... I think you guys are right, and it was just straight up a faulty box... He wants to go to EFI Live but the truck has an aftermarket turbo on it with a predator tune from the guy he bought the truck off of... Tried putting...
Well thats all the information i need. Luckily the guy was understanding when we bought the chip off of him, or just didnt give a damn. Before we picked it up, the guy said we could try it out and bring it back if it wasnt what we were looking for... Took it back today, no questions asked.
1. It just starts up, and when flipping between the tune options, it just shows up X tune, then goes back to the main screen for any tune changes... im not sure what i should expect to see as a confirmation...
2. Yes, you're right... They changed engines in 2004.5 to the LLY BUT on the edge...
Im not sure it matters but the model is EJC1000A which is 2001-2005 LB7 & LLY... so i cant see this being the wrong chip... just cant figure out why its not loading tunes... Also just to confirm its not the truck we tried it on another 2004, and same result... No difference
This is off the Edge site for this particular set up:
Using the Juice
Adjusting Power Levels
The Juice has four power levels. The Attitude module allows five levels.
The Juice module was designed to allow the user to select a power level for normal operating mode, and either the same or a...
Maybe i have the way these chips work all wrong... i was under the impression that they are switch on the fly? ... So, no i havent tried loading a tune when the truck was off...
My brother recently purchased an edge juice with attitude(used) for his 2004 Duramax. We plugged it all in, everything is accurate on the display but nothing changes when selecting between the performance options...
Any ideas why?
Thats a good idea, i need to keep this on the simple side then branch off from there... so i'll see what my professor thinks of these ideas and if it gets the ok, ill see what he thinks the best option would be as a starting point
That would be wickid man, i just have to find time to get out there... I'll have to keep in touch on it because 6 classes a semester is ridiculous, i feel like a 4 hour round trip (from saskatoon) could be a problem academically.
Thanks Buddy for the angle idea... that would probably be my best bet for this project... I recall looking at some newer diesels... maybe something volkswagon built or some other advanced automaker, and they squeezed the block together with funky angles in regard to crankshaft and connecting...
Heres my problem: I have a project in my Dynamics and Vibrations class in which my group was supposed to analyse some type of mechanism and offer suggestions to improve it through calculations... Our initial project, which we thought would be easy was the mechanism in the pump action of a BB...
