There was a TSB for a better clutch fan. IMO i would look into dual electric fans, if you look under the hood of the newer trucks you will see nothing but electric fans. IMO electric fans are the way to go, less strain on the water pump, more HP, better gas/fuel mileage and they will cool the...
Purchased a 99 ECLB Powerstroke with 400k on the clock. Tranny was just rebuilt for the 5th time 20k miles ago. Has full power and a gooseneck hitch, 4x4 still works good but the body is rough, interior is rough, right outer door handle is missing, and interior light stays on killing the...
The solenoid is probably bad at the canister, you should be able to unplug it and use jumper wires from the battery to activate the solenoid. If it does not click then it is bad. Check the connections too for corrosion.
Well, its been sometime since i was on here but i took the truck back, the tech and i had a few words and he ended up apologizing for wasting my time after he realized i was a former tech there and his team leader is a friend of mine. He shotgunned the PCM/ECU at it and the light came back on...
For now i am going to take the truck to another friends garage and use his scanner to cycle the motor to see if it works or not. If i can make it cycle then i doubt the PCM is bad, if it does not cycle then i may entertain the diagnosis of a bad PCM. When i call the S/W i am going to ask her if...
By the time you get it off you will need a new rotor. I have seen this several times with GM's but i saw it the most with Dodges, the inside of the rotor swells with rust and gets hung up on the wheel bearing flange. Dodge has tighter tolerances so i found the best thing to do is just smash the...
Well my RCLB has had the SES light on for the EGR for over a year now so i took it to the dealer i used to work at to get it replaced before the engine warranty was up. They had the truck for a few days and replaced the EGR valve, i paid my $100 and was out the door. The service writer was also...
I also have the Boulder, it doesnt have as good of service as some other phones that i have had but it will go up to 5 days on one charge if in service and it takes a beating very well. Been through the washer, left out in the cold all day, been swimming with it and i have had no problems with...
You are lucky, most of the noises out of the diffs were due to pitting in the bearing races and spiders. Like said above it is easier to just replace the unit with a low milage piece than rebuild it.
I remember starting out with a stock rig and playing in the mud all the time. You will find over time through constant breaking, upgrading and new challenges that this hobby gets expensive fast. Keep your truck small and enjoy it. Personally i would stick with 38-39" tires and cut the truck down...
I just ran a friends Firehawk last week, he got by me but he earned it. We both had gone to a Wake for a friend who had passed and in conversation he said he had driven his car down and i had my ECSB that currently has the 65HP tune in it. He left about 10minutes before i did and i was just...
I am surprised to see no replies to this old thread. I myself tow a 14' enclosed trailer almost everyday with my ECSB, sometimes with the RCLB. In the winter both trucks get plows on them and more often than not the sander is in the bed of the ECSB and the RCLB gets towing duty.
