got a turbo kit today. prototype???

Turbo rebuild time I am sending the turbo off this week, started a new job and got a little behind on some things. Glad you asked though. The center section went on a road trip to l.a couple weeks back I disconnected the intake hose. The exhaust turbine is done, stick it with a fork like...

got a turbo kit today. prototype???

The turbo mounts over the drivers valve cover, more correctly, the oil outlet dumps into the valve cover. This is a fairly well made custom deal. the hat "under the banks donut intake" can be used, or the banks one can be used, kit came with both. The flange for the exhaust is nothing more...

got a turbo kit today. prototype???

here are the pictures as promised, if it was a hack job, it was done by a pretty skilled welder, the welds are solid. but it does not look like a factory deal to me, probably a very skilled fabber.

got a turbo kit today. prototype???

I picked up a turbo kit off of a seller on craigjunk. Guy says it came out of an early 94 idi truck. Has a banks round air filter deal, and has just one exhaust manifold, and the exit line for the turbo oil dump goes into the valve cover "which it came with" A garrett turbo on the setup. The...

good advice, was contemplating this, I would love to reinstall turbo, but no time, and can't source a good used kit "I'm not paying almost 4 large for 50 horses, you are smoking something" thanks

Driving from ca to va here soon, just putting the goodyear 8-ply trailer tires on tomorrow. I still need o get the 10-ply's for the truck. 92' f-350, N/A I have my camper top on, to save on drag. I am pulling a 28' racing trailer with two 5k axles with household goods inside. I changed the...

pulling the innards from a 7.3 IDI pump and a 6.2 pump

I'm thinking along the lines of a vapor/air removal system. "like the air dog, but for the pump" air is very bad for fuel pressure, as well as temp, I have some ideas for this, but without a better look and understanding of how the pump operates I can't know just yet

pulling the innards from a 7.3 IDI pump and a 6.2 pump

the best idea is to adapt a drive system for two four cyl bosch pumps, much higher fuel levels can be achieved, and higher rpm's as well. the theoretical limit to the vw 1.9 AAZ IDI was 7,500 only due to the fact that the pump could not effectively supply fuel at higher speeds. in this way...

pulling the innards from a 7.3 IDI pump and a 6.2 pump

There reaches a certain taper point where fuel can no longer be effectively provided even with higher pre pump pressures aka: stronger lift pump. While large pistons are impressive and can make lots of power. I am interested in not just the plungers themselves, but a holistic approach to...

pulling the innards from a 7.3 IDI pump and a 6.2 pump

sleeving the plungers holes, and installing larger plungers, as well as a close and intimate review "with possible modification" of the fuel adjustment. this will potentially give the pump more life, while making it possible to get more fuel at different levels. I would be interested to see a...

pulling the innards from a 7.3 IDI pump and a 6.2 pump

funny, but no, going to V.A. not ever coming back to this accursed place.

Ford 7.3 - Probably beaten to death but reduce fuel while increase cetane

I just love how the 6.5 gets better economy than the duramax, LOL
