    1999 C3500 CCDRW 6.5 no start

So.. the truck has been sitting for a couple of months... the fuel tank was taken down for cleaning and frame work. Tank replaced and new rubber lines installed with new LP. New filters all around. All fuses inside and under hood look good. Batteries are just over a year old; had the...

OverHeating Issues!! What Am I Missing?????

I'll ask the dumb ??? Overheating as in the gauge is climbing/pegging or actually bowing coolant out the reservoir...??? From all you have listed you should be running ok. other than a blockage in the block, heads or heater box....??? and even if something was in the heater box it...

Failed Mass Inspection for loud exhaust.

I woulda hung around long enough to record the Ford on the machine and when it passed asked the guy why he passed it; when it is obviously louder than your truck and for his boss to come look at the video.................

New/rebuild engine start up and break-in?

Fill with regular 40w oil. Add a high zinc additive in also. Prime oil system prior to any cranking with the starter. Once you get oil coming out the top of all the push rods.. the oil system is good to go. Take note of what the oil pressure is while priming the system..... use this as a...

Boss did something that may be regrettable.

real easy to tell if LB7 or LLY. just have to BS with the dealer for a bit to get under the hood. that could be painful in an of itself.........

    Aux Fuel Tank plumbing

Norther Tool part for the filler neck is the best route. can be done from under the truck with the hose in place - no need to remove fill hose. Do you have a filter of some sort in line some where? I use a "performance" in line glass filter ( the ones you see just before a carb on some...

Boss did something that may be regrettable.

EGR cooler delete NOW!!! known to plug and crack due to under sizing for heat/flow requirements and leaks oil into anti freeze. WHEN the head gaskets go ( if he not on his 3rd set already ) - ditch the TTY crap bolts and install ARP studs. torque in the afternoon today; let sit over night...

dual terminal batteries in an 06 LBZ, and other quick maint. questions

you can go UP one size on the CCA of the batts and they will still fit in the boxes. I have the 1150 CCA 7yr NAPA batts and they fit fine. top posts will fit in both locations with out a problem. I keep the plastic caps on the posts in case of a bump or tool happens to land on them.

04 LB7 Exhaust Brake, why, why not, and who to get?

look into the Pacbrake system also. with a seperate on/off switch to activate the "brain" of the system of choice, there really is no down side to a exhaust brake. once you get used to how the tuck reacts to braking under load with the exhaust brake you will definitely like the truck alot...

    LB7/LBZ hybrid....

are the cam reluctors the same?? Im thinking the cam itself is just slightly different as the 7's sound a bit different than the Z's. I didnt know the block changed in 03. besides a couple of tap hole locations is there more structure in the 03 an up blocks?? I know in the LML block...

    LB7/LBZ hybrid....

I have found a good low mile LB7 minus the turbo and was thinking of swapping out the LB7 heads/injectors and lines, a few electronic sensors with LBZ heads and electronics and a LBZ turbo. I'm thinking this should be a very simple swap over and would be able to get a truck back up and going...
