    Now the Napa hydro boost...

I'd look hard and double check for any leaks in the system before writing off the booster, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case... What was the reason in replacing it in the first place? leaking? Nick

    DB2 Inlet pressure

Can someone tell me what the ideal inlet fuel pressure is for the DB pumps? I know the DS likes 8-9psi at idle, which is what I've been running, I just want to make sure that it isn't too much. I tried searching with no luck. Thank you Nick

    Injectors Replace

I know this may seem like a stupid question, but I'm assuming you have already verified that all the glow plugs are good and getting power correct? If these are cold start symptoms, that would be my first look. Prior to my last IP taking a dump, it was intermittently doing exactly what you...

    Injectors Replace

Any reason why you want to replace the injectors? I think a lot of people replace injectors when it really isn't necessary. Personally I would pull them and have them tested to check the pop pressures and spray pattern. I've only replaced one set over the years, and even in that case I could...

    Thank you Leroy

Let me know if you need a parts donor or another to rebuild for a spare. Ive got a couple dead FRB5's and a 10. Personally had horrible luck with all of them so I switched to the Raptor which I should have done a long time ago. -Nick

    DB2 Conversion thread

It's alive! Finished up everything yesterday and was even able to get out for a quick road test! For the throttle cable bushing I ended up using a door pin bushing from a Ford truck that was almost the perfect size. Only had to slightly up-size the inside diameter. The wiring was much easier...

The only listed throttle cable for a diesel says '88-90. I was under the impression that was another 6.2 cable. -Nick

    DB2 Conversion thread

Got to spend a bit more time on the truck this morning. Installed the new water pump and cover, alternator, thermostats, and brand new IP hard lines from Leroy. I'm now onto my least favorite subject. Electrical. Anyone converted a OBDII truck have any pointers? Bobbie Martin's guide explains...

    DB2 Conversion thread

I had a hell of a time locating an OEM cable. New and aftermarket was not an option. I had even ordered a cable for a 6.2 out of desperation hoping to adapt it if needed. I don't usually consider myself a lucky person, but a stop at the pick and pull junkyard proved otherwise. Found a '93 6.5...

    DB2 Conversion thread

I had seen what Leroy did by rotating the housing, but then id have to re-route the upper hose (that i already purchased new) and possibly the upper intake. I ended up making my own bracket to utilize the upper hose and housing as-is. The three brackets pictured above are as follows from...

    DB2 Conversion thread

Currently have the new pump mounted in the truck. Resealed the valve covers, new glow plugs, front main seal, fluidampr and pulley installed. Trying to come up with a throttle bracket design that will work around the dual thermostat housing has proven to be a little bit of a challenge. I...

    DB2 Conversion thread

My DS4 gave up again after 45k miles/10 years. Not a bad run I guess, but with dreams of never replacing another PMD I decided to go the mechanical route. I've had great luck with our DB2 6.2s and was never let down by their reliability. Started amassing parts a few weeks back and finally have...

    Fluidampr install

Thanks for the replies. Should be able to sleep a little easier now! I've finally started on reassembly today with my DB2 conversion and this held me up a bit. I will say this, for anyone building their own install tool, use a high quality throw out bearing or something of that nature. I...

    Fluidampr install

Finally getting around to installing the Fluidampr I purchased from leroy 4 years ago..... First off, I can't comprehend how anyone could have possibly installed one of these with a mallet as stated on some of the forums. I built an install tool with an old crank bolt and holy s**t did it take...

    DB2 Conversion questions

Yes, the crank position sensor. I have a manual transmission so I'm not worried about the transmission inputs. But since you mentioned RPM's.....does the tach receive signal from the CPS or the alternator? I wouldn't want to lose that function. -Nick
