It's not holding pressure and is an eye opener on downhill exit ramps and at red lights. Takes a couple pumps to bring the pedal back up. Just installed this jewel a couple weeks or so ago.
 
I'd look hard and double check for any leaks in the system before writing off the booster, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case...

What was the reason in replacing it in the first place? leaking?

Ive had a series of dud reman hydroboost units. They were more than soft - just plain nonexistant in braking power. Both feet on the pedal and it would still not really stop. I agree you may have more than hydroboost issues.
 
Blown wheel cylinder I suspect. Whats the Brake Fluid level doing? Staying the same is air or leaking master cylinder seals.

A low pedal with a hydroboost issue would lock up the brakes.
