So if I put the wix filter on my 99 6.5 I should set it up after lift pump since it is suppose to be 3 micron rating?

    Upgrades to my 93 6.5

vstech- The new fan and clutch fixed my overheating problem. Leroy- The cat filter is suppose to be a 10 micron water separator filter. Wix claims its filter is 3 micron but that is with the nominal micron rating. The cat filter is 10 micron at 99% efficiency. The wix filter was around 15...

    Upgrades to my 93 6.5

I decided to upgrade my filter for the kit I installed a while back. Went with a cat water separator filter. I also got a Wix filter to try out when I put a kit on my 99 6.5. The one thing I noticed is the Cat filter came with an o-ring to seal threads. Here is a list of the filters that I...

    Replacement FFM options?

Has anyone else had a problem with this? I was looking at putting one of these lift pumps on my 99 6.5. I put a FRB-5 on my 93 and has worked great.

Need some help with a walbro FRC 10

Use compressed air into the fuel tank to push fuel to the lift pump. Then when I got a little fuel to the IP, I just started the truck and let the IP help the lift pump get any air out of the system.

    Upgrades to my 93 6.5

I was thinking about the heat shield thing myself. I was scared at first but I hauled my neighbors tractor last night to the shop. When I got there I got under truck and both fuel pump and filter was cool to the touch. I think that I am going to buy a roll of header wrap and just wrap my...

    Upgrades to my 93 6.5

I did clean out my cooling stack while putting fan clutch on. I couldn't believe the amount of dirt and junk that was in it. I plan on changing thermostat when I do a coolant flush in next few weeks. I will be putting the new setup to the test either today or tomorrow going to pick up a...

    Upgrades to my 93 6.5

Well my truck had started overheating when it was idling so I decided it was time to upgrade the fan clutch. While doing it I decided to upgrade the fan also. I used a AC-delco fan clutch from a late year 6.5. Then put a DMAX fan on it. Got both of them off amazon for less then 120 dollars...

    99 6.5 problems

That is what I was guessing it was. Going to try a few other things but looks like I will be getting the IP rebuilt.

    99 6.5 problems

My 99 6.5 had started surging and cutting off randomly last winter. So I ordered a relocation kit and put new PMD in bumper. In a bout the last two weeks it had started jumping around in RPM at certain speeds. The dash was showing a jump of 3 to 400 RPM. So yesterday I went to back it out of...

    Can the 6.5 pull 12,000lbs?

The axle load is how they are getting everyone around me right now. Most people have gone to tandem wheel goosenecks so they can haul plenty of weight on trailer. But then they have there truck axle overloaded. So weight distribution is the key to it all.

    Att dyno results

That is impressive making those numbers with only 12-14 PSI boost. I wonder how much more is in it by cutting fuel up more?

    Can the 6.5 pull 12,000lbs?

I towed heavy with a bumper pull one time when I had to move a piece of equipment and my goose-neck was already being used. That will be my last time using one. Your front tires of your truck wouldn't even be hardly on the ground with that weight behind it.

Pics of my 93 6.5 working around farm.

Yeah that load of firewood was a lot of work. Had 4 red oak trees fall in some of my fields last summer. They were all over 3 hundred years old. The logs are actually gum trees going to make railroad ties.

Pics of my 93 6.5 working around farm.

The 93 is the truck that I like towing with the most out of the three in my sig. It gets the best fuel economy out of the three. If I have to take a decent length trip towing on interstate I do use the DMAX. My 93 does real good towing up around 55-60 MPH but over that not so much. I am glad...
