6.5L 6.5L Parts - Engine parts, tranny, xfer case, everything but block and crank!

Yep, I have the bumper. I'm pretty sure it is like new (only 2 or 3 years old). I will PM you...

6.5L 6.5L Parts - Engine parts, tranny, xfer case, everything but block and crank!

I'd prefer to not get rid of the inspection cover, since if someone wants the tranny they are going to want that as well... If the tranny doesn't sell and I keep it for a spare I might consider it though.

6.5L 6.5L Parts - Engine parts, tranny, xfer case, everything but block and crank!

Got a ton of parts here I'm trying to get rid of. If you guys follow my story, I bought a suburban with a broken crank and trashed block, so I have all of the extra engine parts off of it. I bought a running, driving 1995 K1500 pickup with a good engine and stuck it in the suburban. So now I...

    Swapping Heath Chip?

One of these days I'll figure out how the turbo /wastegate works. Thanks guys.

    Swapping Heath Chip?

I'm going to try a stiffer turbomaster spring next. Running at 65 mph flat road I'm at 9 psi. Seems way too high...

    Swapping Heath Chip?

New chip arrived the other day - got to put it in yesterday. Thoughts: ~ In 7 degree (F) weather, plugged in it fired up with no smoke (used to sputter/smoke for a bit even in 30 deg. plugged in). ~ Smokes a bit until it gets warmed up (I was plowing my driveway, when I backed up I could see...

What is this wire? Help please

looking for a bit of help here... I am cleaning my grounds, and found a wire I dont know what to do with. It is in the loom that goes down the passenger side head. It has an orange wire that splits into the 4 gp wires. A purple wire to starter solenoid. A black wire with white stripe which...

    Swapping Heath Chip?

After a call from Bill, it appears that he found the issue. Apparently the chip was the correct one, but something happened to it and trashed the programming. Most likely a grounding issue or a voltage spike. He said there is no way that thing ran right the way it was, which confirms my...

    Swapping Heath Chip?

Step #1 is to get the right chip in there and make sure timing is right, then I'll start tracking down other things. My C1500 with 3.42 gears used to walk up long hills in OD with TC locked... I realize the suburban is heavier and 4x4, but asking it to pull itself (with or without a 3k light...

    Swapping Heath Chip?

Warwagon - interesting thoughts... thank you. I talked to Bill today, he suggested a couple things, but mostly that I need to get the chip into his hands and see what we're working off with. Apparently going from one engine to a different engine (different IP's) doesn't really work out...

    Swapping Heath Chip?

I have TM set at 12 PSI, and consistently hit that number. Would that rule out the exhaust leak? (Personally, I think I would hear it, and I don't think there is one. Fuel starvation is a possibility. I will get a gauge rigged up one of these days to double check. I get a haze of black...

Yep, GM turbo... 4 if I remember correctly.

    Swapping Heath Chip?

The basic history of my suburban is as follows: Bought it with a broken crank, knew it needed a replacement engine. Suburban had 4" exhaust, Heath chip, turbomaster. I bought a same year (1995) K1500 (stock) and pulled the complete engine (turbo/IP/etc), putting it in the suburban. Kept...

Used Engine - Sitting on HB and oil pan

To restate: I agree 100% with the teardown, that would be the plan from the beginning. The question was regarding the condition of the HB and crank... looks like (from general consensus) the HB definitely needs to be replaced, but the crank probably was not hurt simply by the weight sitting...
