Using that valve from JCW, you could ditch the factory setup and just select which tank you wanted to run off of, instead of expecting it to run on it's own. You could just run off of the first tank, and when you switch to the second tank, you could have the return go to the first tank. The...
Have you guys ever thought about getting rid of the balance module, and just running a tank selector valve? JC Whitney has one that will switch between tanks, also will change fuel pumps, and can also switch the readout on your guage to either tank. It shouldn't require too much plumbing or...
Thanks for the reply, Missy. That one is definately coming out.
The one I have the question about is the other motor.
It wasn't huffing oil, but had a broken bolt on the IP gear. Could that cause a rapping noise. It didn't sound as bad as my other motor, and cracking inector lines didn't...
OK, it has been a while, but I have been too busy to touch anything.
I never tried the injectors in either. Both had the noise even when I cracked injector lines.
I know the engine in my dually is bad. It's rapping pretty bad, and it is puffing smoke out the oil fill tube pretty darn good...
Matt,
You're welcome, and that is great that it worked for you.
And for anyone that is thinking about adding this, Matt left my house some where around noon I think, and by 5:30, he already had it installed, and that is after having a 1 hour drive home. So, it doesn't take much, you...

Only $40, and stainless. If you have a 4" exhaust, just put this at the end of your 3" downpipe.
As far as I know, it is illegal to sell used cats...
Matt, I think that I have one or maybe even more old laptops that can handle that. I'll try digging through my computer graveyard this weekend and see if I have anything that has a good battery. I don't need them and was just going to toss them into the back of my truck and take them to be...
I myself hate talking on the phone while driving, but do usually answer when it rings. I consider myself a pretty good driver, but will still put it down if there is traffic and I have to pull out onto a busy street. I also have a blue tooth headset for the phone that I use. It's better than...
Check out this truck on eBay:

How great would it be to buy the truck for...
Sure. You can use mandrel bent exhaust tube, and you can also get aluminum elbows. I don't know if you could get the exhaust in a tight enough radius, but I bet the aluminum wouldn't be hard to find.
Yeah, but the problem is knowing which one is a GOOD motor shop.
Back around '87 (damn, I'm gettin' old) I had a guy do a motor for my Oldsmobile. He was supposed to be great at performance builds. Not long after it was built, the rear main started leaking so bad that I couldn't drive for...
So who is a good builder to buy from? I get my car motors done by a couple of motor guys that my friend with a speed shop deals with, but he doesn't know any diesel shops. I don't know enough people with diesels, and none that have motor buying experience.
I'm thinking if I rebuilt it it would be a really BAD one. I've installed cams, heads, intakes and easier stuff but I don't think I should be bolting cranks into high compression motors. I have a smooth driveway. I don't want cranks sticking out of it.
My trucks PO used it for towing a big camper I think. I have the remnants of a 5th wheel hitch in the back, and a 50 gallon aux fuel tank in the back, so I think they did some long hauls. Also, I have some extra wiring in the back and an unused filter setup underneath, and a cut coolant line...
