What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

The two stroke dye won’t cause any issues. I’ve run it many times. Red dye diesel also will not cause issues.
I didnt think the stuff in the pail looked dark enough to cause problems.
Right now I just can not make up my mind.
So far to pull this pump and install my original unit all there is is the turbo, fuel lines to the injectors, then fuel hose, IP gear bolts and the mounting nuts.
If I install the intake system, right now dont take too much and then if it still cuts out and makes lots of smoke like its doing then it all has to come apart again.
I used to take magnesium and whatever else is recommended for leg cramps and charlie horses. That caused the pain and frequency to triple up.
I stopped taking those supplements.
Now standing on these blocks of wood the cramping and charlie horsing is at an all time high. When I quit for the day, get in the house and in my spot, them darn things strike with a vengeance.
But enough of the whining, guess I’ll install that lower and upper manifolds and see how it runs.
Just curious, should I use the used gasket or install the new unit ?
Screw it, new one itiz. I’ll have another new one come Tuesday. 😬🫣😹😹😹

I've frequently reused the intake gaskets. I was told years ago to grease them.

I've since been told otherwise. But grease still seems the way to go

I've reused intake gaskets several times. Just inspect them good. On the dye some people have issues others don't. Don't know what the variables are , maybe fuel quality, maybe optics.
At the local rank farm they used to treat each tank as it wrnt out.

Sometimes it may have got a double dose or more.

I've never heard of die messing up an.optic sensor, but I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility.

I've had luck eating dill pickles for the cramps.

WWhen draining the T there won't be lots of water in there. Sometimes you will see a little crud. Sometimes a few water balls on the bottom of the container.

It might depend on the fuel or additives if the water is absorbed into the fuel, so you can't.

What you have there looks good to me.

Later, turn on the luft pump and run fuel through it again.

Since you just bled the T drain. You shouldn't get anymore air

Before going any farther.
I fired up the engine and run it one more time.
The engine accelerates just fine up to about 2200 RPMs, it runs a little rough and makes its smoke to about 2600 RPMs.
After that up to 3000 RPMS its smooth as can be and nor more smoke.
Going to install the intake and run it for a while. Going to try daily driving it for a while but make each trip long enough to bring the engine up to operating temps.
Get some of this fuel used out and add more fuel whenever it gets to about 3/4 of a tank, keeping it to the full side but adding more clear as it goes.
Probably run it around the interstate loop before dropping into work in the morning, use co. Truck for noon time 1/2 hour dinner then another run at quitting time. Probably put on ten miles out then ten back.
Thats the plan, how the engine runs will determine any of these factors.
