regarding second pic -the prestolite:
That's the one that comes in the hummer, the only reason they run that one is it CAN BE waterproof. When they get rebuilt some workers don't always put the seals back in because they can be hard to deal w/. As far as long life-no better than the reman proline. btw it weighs twice as much, no joke. I have one that needs a solenoid but I would rather use the minis, which I submerge in water and had no ill effects. Submerge in mud is a different story: drive it home wash it of and pull the starter for cleaning before trying to use or ZOT POOF then pull the starter.
It is really a case of spend $ for a powermaster and save labor, or the other way around. I have a couple buddys here that we put powermasters on theirs and no problems, but idk how they handle water, mud or whatever. My hummer is easy peazy starter drop. My rear bracket actually goes to the engine mount instead of the block wacky but works well.
Of coarse if Leroy was an authorized Powermaster dealer with a group buy...
