wht type of transmission do i have?

I have a 1989 HD with 350. My transmission has a granny gear plus 1st,2nd,3rd, and reverse. what of transmission do I have MV3500 or NV4500? is this a 4 or 5 speed?

Can you post up a picture of it? Is it an aluminum or cast iron case? Could be an SM465 I believe in that year, but GM also offerred a metric light duty in some trucks in the late 80's to early 90's.

I do not have a picture, but the housing is aluminum.

Last couple years of the sm465 has aluminum top housings. I bet that's what you have

My 89 HD2500 had one of those. BULLET PROOF[/QUGranny my local pick and pull has a dually with a manual transmission. The truck appears to be a HD. Would hat transmission fit my 89 4/4 hd?

Are you looking for a new 4 speed? If you want OD now would be a good time to swap in a NV4500 5 speed... I think all 89-95(maybe -2000) GM pick ups have the same bolt pattern and will swap.
