Which vendor sells Diamond Eye?

PMDCable does, he's on holidays but I think he can be reached by PM's

Performance truck products sells the whole system without muffler for $230 and $260 for win the muffler and shipping is free.

It's the best deal that I have found yet

I'd pay a couple extra bucks to get it from a vendor here. Not 50% mind you, but a few extra. I missed one of our vendors when I bought my head studs. I might have got them from NA in the end anyway, but I never thought to give someone here a chance first.

I will also need gauges. Anyone here deal in Isspro?

I looked around the vendor's section a little thinking it might tell me who sold what, but I couldn't find any info like that. Maybe I was doing it wrong?...

It's worth giving PMDCable a chance. I have purchased several things from him.

I just installed my Diamond Eye kit this weekend. It's a little louder than I expected. If I had been able to listen to someone elses I would probably have bought the cheaper kit and puchased a quieter muffler separately.
It's not too bad but just a little louder than needed on a Burb. Sounds cool and seems to have freed up some power.

I hear that! (see the pun?) I've never been one for loud exhaust. I like something with a good sound, but not loud. Loud doesn't mean powerful, just like black smoke doesn't mean power either. Oh, how so many have yet to learn....

But now that you got us on the subject, what muffler sounds good on a turbo diesel? I've used DynoMax super turbo's on gassers before and liked the result. I have a MagnaFlow for my 97 (although, I haven't put it on yet. But I did hear one in person before I bought it) Maybe the BTM?(big truck muffler as it's called on some sites. made for C70 2 ton style gas trucks) Are "diesel" mufflers like Banks or MBRP any different internally than a gas muff?

I think most diesel mufflers are of the straight through design, with perforated pipe with fiberglass around that.
Kinda like a glass pack I would guess

It would probably be good on a truck and is fine for daily driving. But it will probably be annoying towing on a long trip in the burb.

Heath does.

Convienent. I'm getting a few other things from him anyway.

About the muffler, what I want is exhaust that is mostly un-noticed until you plant your right foot firmly on the floor. Then it should talk to you a little. Not talk to everyone in a 3 state area! Just you, just a little, and not drone or anything on the highway either. The 'layman' should not even notice or care that you've got exhaust, but the conissiour would notice right off it's not stock and ask you to demonstrate it! I'm thinking I might look for a muffler that's straight through, but with a kink. Kind of a lazy 'S' if you will. I guess I can always change it out if I'm not happy. It only costs money. I'm also going to ask if I can get a DE system in stainless, just 'cause!

Go with the diamond eye, and if it's to loud add in a glass pack before the muffler where the cat used to be to act as a resonator. It will knock the sound down, and then the muffler will take the glass pack edge off of it leaving it quiet. DE sells a kit like this for the DURAMAX trucks, and it sounds stock for the most part.

Restoguy, Fermanator's idea sounds like it has merit. I can tell you that what you that the standard muffler that comes with the DE kit will be louder than what you describe. The 'layman' knows it right away. It is obvious as soon as you start it. It sounds good but sometimes too loud in the parking lot. I may try Ferm's idea if I find a low cost one.
DiamondEye does not do a SS kit. It's aluminized steel.

I read a thread recently about testing mufflers but can't find it now. Does anyone know where it is? I think there were some good recommendations.

I don't know if I have room for 2 mufflers. It's only a crew cab long box...:hihi: Can't believe I just used a smiley... I think it's a good idea for sure. Allows for 'tuneability' too.

DE doesn't officially make SS exhaust for the 6.5L, but they make both SS and aluminized for the Dmax and their other systems. I'm gonna ask and see what it would cost. They are made in the US, so maybe they can stick some SS tubing on the bender and hit go. Maybe not, too.

I asked before about my BURB, and they told me that the stainless wouldn't bend very well into the tight radiuses needed to get over the rear axle.

IIRC Diamond eye has a wife pleaser set up. If not there is a kit out there and its not from heath, I think it might have been kennedy (Id rather buy from him anyways).

Not to thread steal or anything, i have the Diamond Eye kit without a muffler. In the truck its not bad at all, even with the windows down, you hear more wind than anything. However, when your standing on the outside and the truck is moving/accelerating it sounds pretty loud! Im usually the one driving my truck so i never notcied the difference. But i guess if someone looked at me they'd still call me a kid and thats why i like it lol.
