Which permatex for what use

Ok my 2 cents...if I understand right the black gasket maker will work for anything right?. Asking cause I'm finally fixing my leaking tranny pan gasket tomorrow..I have the original gasket from the factory that was on this tranny when I got it.. (the thick gasket..still in good shape ) when I put this tranny in I used a new gasket (thin cheap one that came with the filter)..it's leaked ever since...so when I change the gasket tomorrow and use the thick one should I use the black or red rtv ?
I've heard guys on here say they only use the black but I have both and want to do this right.

Idk why they don’t have the caulking tube listed- chart size maybe?
no clue which are available in them nor part numbers.

on the trans pan- best is the factory reusable rubber one that you don’t use any sealant on.
but using the cheapy one- get the ultra black would be my guess. Call their tech support line to make sure atf wouldn’t hurt.

I too vote for the original thick gasket with no sealer.
Unless it was leaking before it was removed.
Then use the original gasket with a very thin coat of sealant to both sides.
Red silicone sealer is for higher temperatures. I would go with the red.
Red or black will hold okay against transmission fluid.
